Big News For Me!

  1. I bought a house! This is a huge deal for me because I am a single mother of a disabled child, and at this time last year I had nothing but my child and the clothes on our backs, thanks to KATRINA and an abusive ex husband.

In the course of this year, I have gotten a new job, managed to save 10,000 to put toward a house all by myself! No assistance from the government or from family! I just have scrimped and pinched for the last year. I'm so proud of myself.
    Thanks for letting me share!

You have every right to be. That's a huge accomplishment. My youngest daughter is raising 2 children with 1 having a mind/body defecit, and the other has AD-HD, and she just bouhhy onr too. I told her I was very proud of her, and I proud of you too.

Smooth seas never made skilled sailors.

I know you've had a rough year, but I believe that there is a greater pattern to life.

Glad to hear that, at the least, the last year has made you a better sailor of the ship of your life.

Congrats. I bought my first house 2 yrs ago. I still think, "I wonder if the landlord would allow me to . . . . oh wait, I would!" - And, I always think that w/ a smile.

i was just going to echo those exact same words.

    yay for you meerkat.
the best has yet to come.

i forgot what timothy said, but i know i agreed with him.
i know it was comparable to the suffering we experience, only serves to inevitably enhance our relationship w/man.
while hardship never feels good, it is always an opportunity for self-exploration and discovery.
you have clearly discovered how very strong and resilient you are.
i truly am happy for you and your child.
    yay for you...

I'm surprised no one beat me to this idea--

--you need to hang a lovely sign out front that says, "Meerkat Manor." Just like the Animal Planet show.

Congrats, dear heart. You've accomplished so much. I'm happy for you.

P.S. I realize that the general population doesn't know you as Meerkat. Just let 'em wonder.
