Being in the ER is not fun

  1. So my school nurse made me go to the ER yesterday. I had been vomiting blood (two times) and she told me I had to go. So I went into the city and went to my hospital and got to the ER at around 3:30. They took me right back and into a room.

Well it turned out to just be a stomach bug and it only took them till 12:30 to tell me this.

I'm so sorry you had to spend all that time in the ER, but I'm glad it's *just* a stomach bug (no fun!!), and nothing long-term.

Hope you feel better soon, Meg.

    Aren't ERs wonderfully time efficient?

But, still, better safe than sorry; vomiting blood is not something to ignore.

Glad to hear it's nothing serious, Meg!

that is what some other people have said. but they ruled out other things they thougt it might be and figured it was nothing hughly major so they said it was jsut a stomach bug

so i have decided to contact one of my docs to see if she agrees that it was probably a bug or if she thinks it is something more.

I was thinking that a bug shouldnt have caused me to vomit blood (ya it was not a lot but it was still there) and you guys saying this has helped me to know that my initial thought was right. I will be sending her an email off today.

how did they dx 'a stomach bug' ??
more than likely one of them said we need to free up room one, tell her to go see primary and that it was just a 24 hour bug,
excuse me but i am a cynic

I didn't either until it happened to me. I had some horrid virus that lasted for three weeks!!! A vessel must have ruptured in my upper GI tract from the strain of vomiting for three weeks . . . ICK!!!!!
