Been a tough 24 hours

  1. Is there something about "not good" things happening the Monday after Friday the 13th???

OK...comming back from the cottage went to fill will gas...found out my visa card was being used by someone who tried to enjoy almost $4,000 on me shopping on the net! Great! Spent most of the morning cancelling cards; checking statements, getting warnings to all the right places! I'm kind of nervous but it looks like I won't be held liable; and it was limited to the one card.

Next I get back home 4 hours later finding loads of messages from my sister-in-law....found out my little niece from my nephew's first marriage (the mom of my 13yo great niece) is very ill with a mass found near or on the brain stem. Due to the family situation after the break-up; we are given limited info. This poor little gal only in her mid 30's...and I hurt for my great niece Machalla. Been talking to the family...tring to help, but little one can do.

Tonight on my way into work...my rear hatch (on my SUV) is open...so when I got to get the mail at the end of the driveway I go to close it. When doing so the whole rear window breaks into a billion pieces for no reason! I have no idea how much I have to pay from my insurance. And of course I work most of the week; and it's cold and raining!

Than I get to work...vent through my emails...didn't get my pay stub as I had been on vacation (was just going to wait to balance my checkbook later)...find out I was (I think) overpaid by at least $500!!! So I leave a memo to my NM as to who to call; and would she please check to see if I am loosing my mind or not! I'd love to keep that money; but cann't of course!

Whew! I'm not too sure I want to even get out of bed once I get there tomorrow!

Sheesh, when it rains, it pours! I'm glad you got the credit card mess straightened out, so you're not liable. Someone stole our mail once (out of the stuffed-full mailbox), and used the card #s from the statements (and bills) to charge things. WHAT A MESS!!! And it takes time to sort everything out . . .

I'm so sorry about your niece, what tragic news. . . you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Does your insurance cover your back window??? Ours has shattered twice (accidently left open while garage door raised . . tremendous explosion of glass ), and although we had to pay a deductible, the rest was covered. (I can't believe it happened twice, though!! one would think once is enough!!) and of COURSE it's cold and rainy!!!

    I hope tomorrow goes better for you . . . hugs. -- D

    Thanks Dianah!

I feel so bad for Jenny too; and Machalla - 13 is such a touchy age (at least it was for me); I'm glad she is now with her dad (my nephew) - but I think this is her Mom...I thought when I was 40 that was young...but to be only 13 and without your mom...too much too much...Machalla is such a sweet kid.

Deep breath and pray to hang on to whatever God's plan is!

    Kitty,

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your great neice and her family! It has to be so rough to have anything like that happen, esp with a young child!
I hope that there is a turn of events for you soon!

Just checking in gang...I have no news about my my neice...I've tried to get ahold of my nephew several time (phones email) without any responce...so I'm thinking They think it's best I stay out of it (as far as visiting Jenny in the hospital). Once I get done with work I just might stop over with a lasagna for them...at least they'll know I'm thinking of them (that's how we lutherans show the love you know - food).

Got the window fixed on the SUV - covered by insurance 100%

Still waiting for the paperwork with the false charges...but no new attempts so hopefully that'll be that!
