Beef recipes for slow cooker

  1. Actually have finally purchased one. Now to use it.
Have only cooked the conventional way or with a pressure cooker in the past, so this is very new for me.

    Thanks in advance................

To give you specific recipes we need to know the size of your new slow cooker (also helps to know how many you are feeding).

You would have a disaster on your hands if you have a 3qt and I gave you some of my recipes that fill my 6qt slow cooker and feeds a house full of (big) hungry guys :chuckle

I really recommend www.allrecipes.com they have a big slow cooker section (and is the source of most of my recipes).

I have a real simple one for roast beef. I just put a can of cream of mushroom soup over the roast and cook it for 10-12 hours on low. It make it very tender and a nice gravy with the meat. Sometimes if I want extra gravy, I will remove the meat and pour the drippings in a pan and add cornstarch & water to thicken it. The one tip I have for slow cookers is do not remove the lid until it's done. I hope you enjoy yours!!

I picked up a cook book a couple of years ago, "FIx it and Forget it". It has a lot of really easy recipes for all sorts of things.

It is actually a 6 quart with extra removeable sections for cooking just a few smaller items.

I would like recipes that I can make at the beginning of the week and just have to reheat with my schedule.

Silly question. What cut of meat do you use? Totally lost with this. But I love cream of mushroom soup and any type of mushrooms.

    Thanks for the recipe.

Thanks for the link. It is wonderful. Next day off it is a quick trip to Costco for the meat.

I use this one, but add a packet of lipton onion soup to it. You can use just about any cut of beef -- (round steak, round roast, chuck roast.)
This is one of my family's favorites... serve the gravy over egg noodles or potatoes.

I had the silly question as well, what kind of meat cut to use, but it was already answered. Thanks
