Banned for "swear" word!

  1. I submitted a post on another nursing BB, in which I referred to the author Charles Dickens.

I got a message saying my post had triggered the internal "swear word filter" and that I needed to re-word my post. After several attempts at submitting the post, I was banned by a bot for "repeatedly" trying to post "swear words".

The only conclusion I can come to is that the filter bot rejected me for using the word "Dickens."

I guess there are no fans of "A Chrismas Carole" moderating that site.

Well, I wonder what they would think of me since my last name is Dickens......

The real hilarity as far as I am conscerned is that the British and Australians have a whole raft of swear swords that America doesn't use and vice versa.

What is considered a swear word is VERY culture dependant!

So beautifully put and I could not have said it better myself.

Are you kidding me? If they actually were referring to the word "dickens" as a swear word, that has got to be one of the most anal retentive things I have ever heard! Of course, if I were posting this there, I doubt I could get away with the word "anal"!

    Lighten the hell up already!

Sadly, our kids, if taught exclusively in politically "correct", which is, as I interpret the malady, as totally INcorrect, will never be privy to classic literature at all...So much for learning and education.....Imagine if the Canterbury tales got through some politically correct battle lines....That is what renewed my interest in high school literature...It was so neat to be asked to read something so naughty...I just read an article that now a days, some groups are campaigning for water free toilets....Figure that one out and run it by a politically correct person...Wonder if they would go for THAT....Curses!
