Bali bomb blasts kill at least 32

  1. Powerful bombs ripped through three crowded restaurants on the Indonesian resort island of Bali, killing at least 32 people and wounding more than 100.
The near simultaneous blasts at two packed seafood cafes on Jimbaran beach and a three-story noodle and steak house in downtown Kuta occurred days before the anniversary of the October 12, 2002 bombings that killed 202 people at two nightclubs also in Kuta, just a short walk away.

    It is completely sad.

I'm glad the Australian government is offering medical aid to Indonesia.

Beautiful area of the world. Just wish that they could leave that island alone. Bali is actually mainly Hindu, but it is easily accessible by boat from the neighboring islands. And this is usually where the trouble comes from.

Kutal always brings back special memories to me, and that was the area that was hit.

Thank-you for your obvious and overwhelming concern. Three Australians have been killed.

Sorry this comment has upset me so much I can't post anymore. I will comment tommorrow when I feel better.

ITA. Doesn't matter the nationality. Terrorism and the loss of innocent lives is horrific.

Thank-you Tweety. The overwhelming response here has been firstly the memory of the first Bali Bombings and the terrible toll that they caused and secondly concern for the people of Bali.

Most of the Balinese are Hindu and they rely on the money of the tourist trade - it is virtually the only income for the island.

We have all suffered from this.

"Again if anything, this latest episode illustrated that the threat of terror is very much with us not only in Indonesia but elsewhere in the world and we must not succumb."

We must not succumb.. I think we need to declare war on these terrorists and get really serious about it.
