Balance my account..ON PAPER???

  1. I'm just wondering if anyone else has not used a paper checkbook register in years. I've been using Microsoft Money since 1998 and barely remember what I did before then. Some of my friends like Quicken, but, they also don't know what it's like not using those programs for managing their finances. Anyone else hooked on Money/Quicken?

I've used Quicken for years, (we also have a small business), and love it. I also use online banking. However, I still go through my checkbook at the end of the month to make sure everything is there. I guess I'm a bit anal. :chuckle

I do love using the computer for banking. It works great at tax time too, since everything is categorized.

Ahhh, the accountant lean towards Quicken, I believe. Money/Quicken are money management software programs.

You can download trial versions on the Web.

Can't find the Money site, but I'm not sure if they have UK versions...

I LOVE Quicken. I got it back when it was still a DOS program, I think. Because I've NEVER had control of my bank accounts without it.

I got online banking at another bank through my work (I've been banking at a credit union without online check pay and I'd used for online bill pay) anyway that bank needed Money to use the online features. What a mess! I don't like it *nearly* as well, and I gave up on it in less than a month.

Went back to my credit union and I pay Quicken $9.95 a month now to do online billpaying through them.

The thing is, when I installed MS Monday, I IMMEDIATELY began getting spam emails about financial stuff. Hmmmmmmmm

I am down to only paying 4 bills a month by hand and even that irritates me! I just can't see paying Bank of America $5.95 a month to send out 4 bills for me. All my other bills I can pay online on their own sites. I LOVE THAT!!!

Dennie, I hear you about Quicken. I am stuck on Money. Seems like once you are used to one of them, it's near impossible to change!
