Away from work, what do you do?

  1. When your away from work, what kind of activities do you do or hobbies?

I used to square dance, the club I was in danced every Monday and I never missed a dance and danced at other clubs through out the week if I was off from work. Now I don't seem to go as often, not been in over 6 months.

In the summer I work alot in my yard (but can't tell it right now).

I love to travel when I'm not at work. travel pictures
planning my next trip to fly to Frisco on 10th May.

I did take a travel course for a few months 2 days a week and finished that and did some volunteer work with the agent but then left the country for a month and never went back to volunteer with the company.

ok, others that have a life away from the job.

Hmmm, life outside of work....well, I have 3 kids and a hubby so that takes a lot of my time(family nights, cleaning, cooking, errands, taking kids to and fro, you get the idea..). And here, on the computer, but that's about to change. Since it's getting warmer I'll be working in the yard and just outside doing whatever.

Hang out here on Allnurses, of course!!

Otherwise, spend time with my sons and my husband. I am starting to scrapbook but really haven't gotten into it much yet. Go shopping. Browse antique stores. Take a trip to see my parents. Help the boys with their 4H projects and the homeschooling. Sometimes I just do nothing. I really enjoy my computer and wish I had time to learn how to do more stuff with it. I have a greeting card ministry for the people of our church that keeps me occupied. Surf the net.

Well I am at Nursing school full time, and have a part time job, so apart from that I sleep and spend way too much time on the internet.

Especially when I have essays to write and not a clue what to write!

I'm working and in school full time right now, so nothing. My hobbies this semester seem to be not studying for exams and seeing how well I'll do.

When I get out of school, I plan to go back to my usual: reading, writing (poems, short/long fiction). I'd like to learn to quilt, I think I'm going to make my auntie teach me. Which should be interesting since the only thing I've ever tried to make was a pink pig pillow in home ec in 6th grade and it was all jacked up.

I also like decorating and redecorating my house.

Archery. I am into competetive archery. Currently compete at a state level, am hoping to move to the national level next year.

I used to do dried flower arrangements and I really want to start doing that again.

Reading. I love to read and can spend hours reading, especially if I am in the middle of a good book.

Of course all of this is dependent upon the current activity of my children, because I spend so much time running them around to their respective extra curricular activities. This doesn't leave much time to dedicate to my hobbies except archery. I settled that issue by getting both of them into it as well.

Cool thread! Much of my free time is spent here at Allnurses!
    Aside from that,
I like, veggies, herbs, and I like to try to
incorporate my flowers into the landscaping. 2 years ago we
made a half moon shaped rock garden. We are planning to
buy a house though within the next year or so, so we're not
doing a whole lot with landscaping this year.

But when we finally get our's gonna have a nice big
yard. Then I can do all the gardening I want!

I also have lots of birdfeeders and birdhouses outside, because
I like to attract dif kinds of birds...they're so pretty!!

    Lessee, what else....
I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, reading, cooking,
baking...(lately, I've been trying my hand at cake decorating).
I would love to take a pottery class someday...crafts are fun, and
my stepdaughter who's 10, likes to do crafts with me.

So much I want to do, so little time!!!

I work full-time and go to school, so nowadays I don't have much free time. But I sing in a local professional chorus, which keeps me busy on its own, garden in my teeny backyard, take my dog to the park, and read. I love reading. I've been an avid reader ever since my mom taught me when I was 4! Well, perhaps I wasn't an avid reader right away, haha but I did start pretty early. It runs in the family, it seems.

Oh yeah, and shop. Especially for shoes and purses.

Well, I used to crochet, knit, and cross stitch. And paint, oils and water colors. My garden is a work in progress( and I get lots of compliments on it ).

All before my beloved grandkids convinced me I HAD to get a puter ! Then somehow I found this place, and ALL my hobbies have been on a downhill slide since then......

And for the first time in my life, I actually have books in the house that I haven`t read ? Some days I don`t even read the paper until I`ve gone through all the new stuff here.....Am I pathetic or what ?

Oh, well, as I keep saying...."but it`s a GOOD addiction..."
