Avatars

  1. ok - The "Screen Name"thread brought the idea for this thread to mind

Have seen some great avatars out there!

Tell us about yours - Is it a special picture to you or does it have a special meaning? Maybe there is a story behind it that you would like to share

Mine is fairly simple - I made it and of course the name bedpan is my screen name and the SPN stands for Student Practical Nurse (Can't wait to change that part of it!) - The symbol I found and "borrowed" from somewhere on the net - I can't remember exactly where - just had it in my graphics folder where I place interesting graphics I come across - There was only the top half of the graphic, the bottom half was covered with something else but I erased it and filled it back in with what I felt it should look like lol

You did a VERY nice job, too, I might add ! Looks classy.

I change my avatars pretty regularly.. get bored with the same ol' thing after awhile. So whenever I see something that strikes my fancy, I'll save it, size it, and throw it up there. Depends on my current mood a lot, too... so watch out! Ya never know just what ya might see up there !

um.... my avitar, is my own... I'm wiccan, so for me, its a symbol of my faith, and this partictular one, I found to be especially nice...
but, my avitars have also been :

    Rocky Horror lips
and, other assorted wierd things from that movie......
a pic of me and the X....(burned that pic...)
and, something else that escapes me for the moment...

    its fun...

I was a big fan of Xena and just love the attitude/independence that character had.

My "Green Girl" is actually the cover from a 1948 "Dynamic Science Fiction" magazine. I have about half a dozen of these that I originally had scanned to put up for auction on E-Bay until I found that the going price was only about $10!!!

When I first started posting I kept thinking of that picture and the current topic was "how to recruit future nurses" - Somehow I think recruiting future nurses might just might come to this!!!

But for me she represents fighting for what is right. battling against the odds, Also that being different doesn't mean that you are not valuable to someone!!!

    And she is imagination uncaged.

I am using the tapping shoe to indicate that I am impatiently waiting for a response. However, as soon as I find something else that I fancy, I will change it again and again and again ... get the pic?

Mmmm, Carly, that would be difficult. Now let us see, why don't you ask someone to take a typical picture of you?

Mine is the lighthouse in Key West across from Hemingway's house. My boyfriend and I were there on a cruise stop this past April. It is a beautiful town and I wish we had had more time there.

The name of my avatar is Lady Nature......thought it would be fitting for the summer as I love my flower gardens. It is by jules design and I love her work. I am sure it will change in time, also.

I think its time to be changing my avatar.

Amy has lost about 100 pounds since when the picture was taken!

Why do I have this one? It was an experiment of sorts using my Photoshop software. I took a larger photo and edited it to the tilt. It took me a good two or three hours of work until it "looked just right". I actually use it (display it) as some sort of digital photo "art work". . . .

Although I don't think anyone would ever purchase it. . .

. . . or even view it unless I put it up as an avatar. . .

Being an eternal kid at heart and a huge fan of Calvin and Hobbes....my avatar is the embodiment of unabandon joy and hapiness that goes with most childhood experiences......I am happy go lucky most of the time and that is what the dancing Hobbes symolizes to me.....happy and carefree.....I am sure when another more fitting avatar crosses my path...I'll change it....but until then.......

I sto-...I mean, BORROWED my picture off of the internet. I used to rotate, and have a folder with about 20 different avatars, but I decided not to use my own photo on here for...umm...security issues. I used to rotate pics of preemies but this one just tugged at me for some reason, and I thought it was a lovely picture representative of some of the babies I've cared for in the NICU.
