    ANOTHER SUGGESTION FROM ME.

WHAT IF EVERYONE PUT THEIR PIC AS THEIR AVATAR.

    Jayne:

Here's how you submit your personal avatar.

First, you must meet the following criteria:

    1) the photo must be less than 100 X 100 pixils in dimension
    2) the photo must be less than 15,000 bites
    3) the photo must be save as a ".jpg" or "gif" file (maybe more?)

Decide on a way to save your photo. You have a choice to retrieve your photo from a web site or from your computer.

Save your photo. To keep it simple, let's just say you're going to save it on your computer. Know the pathway to your saved photo. For example: c://my_documents/photos/jayne_photo.jpg

Go to "Allnurses.com" and sign in.

    Go to "User CP"

    Go to "Edit Options"

    Click on "Change Avatar"

At this point, you will have a choice of retrieving your photo for upload to the "Allnurses.com" server/website. Again, the choices are

    1) from your web site. If this is the case, enter the exact URL of your avatar. For example,

    www.jaynesworld/photos/jayne_photo.jpg

or 2) from your computer. Click on "Browse". Search for the pathway of your saved photo. For example:

    c://my_documents/photos/jayne_photo.jpg

Make sure you indicate that "Yes" on the "Use Custom Avatar"!!!

Finally, click on "submit modifications" . . . and you're off!!!

You now have a photo of yourself for the world to see!!! (Hopefully you would have brushed your hair when the photo was taken!!! . . . just kidding )

    Good luck!!

I just post you a PM regarding your avatar. There are a number of software programs that can do the trick. If you don't own one, I'll do it for you.

    I'm a software junky.

OK, I just discovered that no matter what I do to my pic, it still just dosn't look right. It too much of a close up once I've cropped it! I don't think I want my face that close up! Any tips on how to keep my face farther away? Or am I not making any sense at all? I'll put my pic on here for a while and you guys tell me whether it's ok or not? How does that sound?

Kristi - you don't necessarily have to crop the pic, just resize it. Does that make any sense? If you want to send it to me, I'll give it a whirl for ya!

Hey sunnygirl, go to your "user cp", then "edit profile", and then scroll down until you see "custom user text."
