ATTN dream interpreters!

  1. What in God's name does this crazy dream I had last night MEAN?

I dreamt that I went into labor at home and delivered a baby boy. I didn't even know I was pregnant. The baby had a full set of teeth, spoke baby talk but spoke nontheless, and had a mustache! It TOTALLY freaked me out. I kept trying to "lose" the baby but someone would always find him say "is this yours m'am?" I keptlooking at this baby thinking "I'm stuck was this kid for life? How did this happen?" It didn't help that my deceased FIL was on the sidelines laughing at me.

I was never so relieved to wake up...geesh!

furball, I've had many dreams like that too about having, not sure what they mean tho, it is a relief to wake up!

hahaha.....I had to refrain from saying that to my hubby when I was describing the dream to him this morning. The more I think about it, though, I think the "baby" was my hubby. He HAS changed a lot since our wedding day but we are best friends. I want to keep him...not get rid of him. Strange.

I usually have a "baby girl" in my dreams, guess I always wanted a girl. Men can be babies too I guess.

I don't know about your FIL or the fact that the kid could talk, but I do know that the classical interpretation (Jungian psychology) for being pregnant and the birthing of a baby is that you're making a new life for yourself, either consciously or unconsciously.

In other words, you could be deliberately changing jobs (or getting fired or have a 'feeling' that you are going to be fired) or that you are divorcing your husband (or going to divorce your husband or want to divorce your husband). Or that you're changing your religious affiliation or viewpoints (or will).

Although the 'above-mentioned' might seem 'bad' -- a dream about being pregnant and/or birthing a baby means that the future will be good. Of course, 'good' comes out of every 'bad' thing that happens and vice versa.

So, anyway, what has happened to you recently that is different?? Or what changes would you like to make/see happen?

    Hmmmmmm BT 2002

That makes the past 6 months I moved away from a place I lived for over 20 years, bought a house, started a new job.

But trying to "get rid" of the baby...does that equate regret?

I find dreams interesting as hell. Thanks fo the info from Jung. I'll have to read up on dream interpretation...any other suggestions for reading material besides Jung? I hate don't go there!

No, Jung was and still is the father of dream interpretation. Everyone else is a take-off from him. Oh, Morton Kelsey. He's an Episcopal priest but he is very good and very clear. Also John Sanford. Other than that, you're going to get into some really weird 'stuff'.

I think 'God' talks to us in dreams. Not all of the time but most of the time. Keep a dream journal. See if you see a pattern to your dreams or if one recurs a lot.

Trying to get rid of the baby could be your concern about your ability to meet your new life/challenges, a longing to go back to 'what was'. After all, the old place and the old routines were 'safer'.

My first ex was in the Army. We moved 13 times in a little over 10 years. I LOVED moving -- each new beginning -- but I also hated leaving the 'old' place behind. At first I thought that was strange. How could I love moving/looking forward to the new place and hate leaving the old place -- both at the same time? Well, of course we can feel both at the same time. )

Good luck to you! I'm sure you'll be just fine!!

PS: COULD you be pregnant? Women sometimes dream about being pregnant before they even have a clue that they really are. )

Dreaming of giving birth can also mean a longing for your personal rebirth - it's asking you what you would do differently if you could start over again. By you wanting to hide or be rid of the baby indicates feelings of helplessness.

Interestingly, dreaming about a hairy baby indicates you are on your way to satisfying your own nature, longing for vitality.

    Here's some recommended books:

"The Little Giant Encyclopedia of Dream Symbols" by Klaus Vollmar. Sterling Publishing Company

"10,000 Dreams Interpreted - An illustrated Guide to Unlocking the Secrets of Your Dreamlife" by Gustavus Hindman Miller. Barnes & Noble Publishing Company *Note: I would not recommend the original version - it was written 90 years ago and hard to translate into modern day terms, make sure you get the illustrated version.

"The Hidden Meaning of Dreams" by Craig Hamilton-Parker. Sterling Publishing Company.

Unfortunately, you can't dismiss Freud entirely. Most of these authors will refer to what Freud would have interpreted but they don't rely on his interpretions solely.
    Vegas rocks at dream interpretation!
