Arnie breaks his leg -surgery today in Los Angeles!

  1. Let me be the first to wish the governator a speedy recovery after breaking his leg in a skiing accident, on behalf of all nurses.com (if I may be so bold). I just couldn't help but wonder - is he going to be treated at a union hospital? Was the accident an act of karma? Will he be glad that his PACU nurse will be working under mandated nursing ratios? :uhoh21: Just wondering, anyway -Get Well Soon Arnie

    *snort*

You said just about everything I was thinking when I heard the news yesterday!!!!

What astounded me about his beliefs regarding the ratios was that he had had cardiac surgery. How would he have liked his CCU nurse having more than one other pt to care for besides him? Or did he expect 1:1 care just because of who he is?

I thought he had his ski accidnt in SunValley, Idaho?

Did they fly him home for the surgery?

he will not need nurses.....nurses are only there for 'set dressing'

Well if he's gonna have surgery, he's gonna get a nurse.

...A pre-op nurse to do the intake...

    .....A Circulating nurse during surgery...

...'prolly a CRNA to put him under....

.....a CST or RN to scrub.....

.....and a PACU nurse in recovery...

....and I bet he gets sent to the telemetry floor for awhile and get a nurse there... not to mention the RN he will take home with him to "monitor" his progress tonight!

Well, the way the governater likes to grope, I only wish that I could get the appropriate nrsg "care" when I need it. Can't remember the last time I was properly 'groped' or whatever it is that Arnie thinks passes for medical/nrsg care in his wonderful state. Hmmm. Maybe I should go to NY where they put hidden cameras in the rooms of nrsg homes. I could sell the tapes to pay for my **** care!

Oh Arnie will suffer for not, he is part of the US healthcare system that is set up for politicians...he will be treated like royalty! They will send in the best healthcare professionals including nurses and CNA's to care for him, the best room and equipment, and enough technical equipment for him to do his job as he rests up.

I was thinking the same thing. If only Joe off the street could get a fraction of the care Arnie is going to get. But it is to bad he isnt left to have the same care as everyone else. Its kind of like jail, politicians get a country club.

I wish the man well. He certainly isn't going to see the reality of nursing because he'll probably have a private duty nurse paid for with his riches.

I do hope he appreciates nurses more.

most likely the fracture is due to all those years od steroid use softening his bones. Can't argue with Karma Arnold, specially with the lousy nurse treatment. Unfortunately I'm sure the California taxpayers are paying for over the top care so I doubt he'll suffer much.

Anybody care to speculate about Sen. Tim Johnson?

Or is it only GOP politicians that get a different kind of care?

    This thread is disgusting.
