Anyone want to play a little Christmas trivia?

  1. I'll start with a few questions, all connected with our favorite reindeer:

In the animated Rudolph Christmas special (you know, the one with Burl Ives the Snowman narrating) what was the name of the king of the Island of Misfit Toys?

Who wrote the song Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer?

Who sang Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer in the recording that rocketed it to fame?

What was original "purpose" of the Rudolph story?

Feel free to answer these and/or pose your own Christmas trivia questions.

I was all set to say Burl Ives sang the song, but he sang Frosty the Snowman. They all blend in after awhile. :chuckle

    King Moonraiser

Johnny Marks was the author, it was originally a poem

    Burl Ives I think?

It's o.k. to be different. Everybody has something to offer. Follow your dreams.

I love Rudolph. Me and my son watch it every year. It's a tradition for the two of us.

Gene Autry (the singing cowboy) did the recording that became famous.

He also owned the Calfornia Angels (later the Anahiem Angels)baseball team.

Robert Mays wrote the story about Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer. Johnny Marks composed the music and in 1939, Gene Autry sang it and made it what it is today
