Anyone Voting Tomorrow?

  1. Tomorrow is election day across this country. I was wondering how many of you intend to vote? And, if you are voting, do you want to put in a political plug for your candidate?

I'm in CA and we have governor's race with the 2 leading candidates trying to out-do each other for the most "crooked politician of the year award". I haven't missed voting in over 30 years, but this year I may go to a movie instead.

Already voted - we had early voting for 2 weeks here. Big ballot issues are deciding if we want to smoke pot legally, make our electric company a public ownership, ban same sex marriages totally, ban smoking in public places (in Las Vegas?? RIGHT!), just a plethora of issues.

There are 14 ballot issues and 28 public office positions we have to decide on.

My opinion? Las Vegas, hell, this entire state, was built on casinos and mining companies. Stop trying to make it a "family resort" destination.

No, don't want marijuana legal... just yet. 3 ounces is like 240 rolled joints that they want people to legally have. I'm for medicinal marijuana, but that's it. Not for everyone over 18 to fire up a doobie anytime they want to.

As far as the 28 public offices - I am so SICK AND TIRED of political ads I could not give a **** at this point. Ugh!!!

So, let me get this straight.... the want to ban cigarette smoking, but legalize pot? LMAO!

Can't wait until the day is brought to us by the letter "I" so I can talk a bit about irony.

And BTW - yes, I will be voting. Big school issue I'll be voting for, and a couple of annoying candidates - I'm voting just so I can vote for their competition!

What can I say, it's Las Vegas. We have legal prostitution in one county but it's illegal in the next.

You can't have alcohol in an all nude bar, but our mayor endorses Gin.

    Ain't life grand?

I already voted. I was scheduled for 7a-7p tomorrow, and the polls are open 6a-6p here in Indiana. Nothing real exciting here in our area. Indiana now only has 10 congressional districts instead of 11. Lost another seat because of population decrease. Our district now stretches from 20 miles south of Ft. Wayne, all the way down to the Ohio river. That is a lot of territory for one person to cover if you ask me.....I basically consider it taxation without representation....

I agree Cactus Wren, if you don't vote you don't have a right to *****. I just can't bring myself to vote for either crook. In the past, if I had to choose between 2 bad candidates, I would write in Barbara Jordan's name; but she died. How I wish I lived in Texas -- I could vote for a Black guy running for govenor and a Mexican guy running for Senator and sit back and watch all those lilly White Good Old Boys have a stroke. Or in Florida and vote for,......well, it doesn't matter, my hanging chad would probably invalid my vote. Or in MN....I would write in the dead guy's name.

Maybe I just wont ***** for the next 2 years.
