Anyone seen Spiderman yet?

  1. You MUST see this movie, it was soooo awesome. I think I'm in love with Toby Maguire, or is it Peter Parker, or Spiderman I love (hey Spidey has some nice muscular thighs in that tight little suit!)

    What did you guys think?

We have plans to see it on my son's first day of NO SCHOOL! Our time is just so busy until then, so we have ourselves a little mother/son "date".

ps... I have heard about the thighs

OK, I have to ask, does anyone remember the Spiderman cartoon? Am I the only one who remembers it??

    Theme song went like this...

"Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can...
    blah blah forget this part
Hey Hey, there goes the Spiderman!!!!"

Grocery store checker and I were talking about this movie mania, and he was my age, and had never seen this cartoon, and thought I was nuts when I sang the theme song.

So, am I nuts, or what?

No, you're not nuts Hoolahan, I remember the theme song to the cartoon and I can't remember the words to the same part either!!

I saw it and the new movie Spirit, Stallion of the Cimmaron, with my 6 year old daughter. We loved it! Oh, and Spirit is wonderful!!

    The magic of search engines:

"Spiderman, Spiderman. Does whatever a spider can.
Spins a web, any size. Catches thieves, just like flies.
    Lookout! Here comes the Spiderman."

Saw Spiderman on my son's 10 birthday along with a couple of his best buddies. Great fun for all!

I loved the movie, too. Didn't like the cartoon, though. I thought Peter Parker was just too whiny. I guess I was a particularly unforgiving little kid.

    Great, FUN movie!

    Love

Spiderman was "O.K." Thought "Spidy" was a bit too melodramatic (sp?).

Star Wars II, on the other hand. . . . way cool! (Although, still not as good as Star Wars IV, V, and VI).

May the Force be with you . . . .

    (and also with you . . .)

My Hubby took me out to see Spiderman last night and we both really liked it a lot. I don't like scarey movies (he still claims he has scars on his arm from our first movie date 28 years ago-- The 7 Voyages {or adventures?} of Sinbad) and have nightmares from suspense movies; so my family "screens" movies for me.

This movie was pretty good but I do want to pass a lesson on to other "scaredy cats": don't eat buttered popcorn when watching this movie if you wear glasses-- I covered my eyes in a hurry when the Green Goblin first appeared and managed to smear the butter all over my glasses and had to watch the rest of the movie without them!! LOL!!! :imbar

    spidey was awesome!!!!
    (tobey maguire is sooo cute...)
it was like the first 15 years cramed into 2 hours....
the only thing I didnt like was the sequence on the bridge with the kids and mary jane... in the comics, the scene didnt go like that... if they did it the first way(like the comics) it woulda been a good intro into the 2nd movie..

    awesome flick though...
    and... Ted...
Everyone who I know who saw SW. II said it was horrible,... like it didnt follow any part of the clone wars books at all..(except for the title, I suppose) I gotta see it!
    anyhoo...

Barb, don't listen to them! I just went to see SWII and it was awesome!!!!!!! I can't even compare it to Spiderman, they were both excellent, but SWII was beyond that, it was an experience!!!

I thought episode I was not great. But, episode II kept me enraptured. Very dynamic, fast-moving, and it really sets up all the sequences for SWIV, you keep saying to yourself, Oh, so that's where Boba Fett comes into play. So that's how anakin aka Darth V loses his arm. And look at Yoda, he can really kick butt!! It was sooooooo cool, you have to see it for yourself before you decide it's not worth it Barb. I gotta go with Ted on this one. Spidey was super, but SWII was PHENOMENAL!!!!!

    Hoolahan,
Thought you might be interested to know that Aerosmith does a cover of that theme song for the movie. My husband was dancing all over the living room in typical melodramatic fashion, acting out the lyrics. Ahh, men. You should check out the song, though.
