Anyone remember the postage stamp with the 3 NYC firefighters from 9-11 on it?

  1. Anyone recall the flap about how the stamp had three MODELS portraying the 3 firemen??
The flap was about the 3 white firefighters being on the stamp, the three who raised our flag at the twin towers site.

    After the flap,
and the concessions to truth and honesty,
    and political correctness prevailed ,
one brown, one black and one white firefighter model
portrayed the original guys on the stamp.

Well, today I received a brochure in the mail from the U.S. Postal Service. It is titled Pride & Patriotism....
The USPS is offering a United We Stand collection.

There is a picture inside. The photo shows a large display of the 3 firefighters stamp. ( Heroes USA stamp)

Standing to the side are the original 3 firefighters
    , all dressed in
their finest dress New York City firefighter uniforms.
There they are, three white guys. Three rather handsome guys too. Their names are written at the bottom of the photo.

The paragraph under the photo says: "...United we stand, etc. etc............................................... ....
    .................................................. .................................................. ...........................................
Although we played a small role in the history of the United States, we are humbled to see our images on this stamp."

    LOL !!

I'd like to ask Bill and George and Dan to point out to me which one of the guys in the stamp they are.

This country just gets crazier and crazier.....
    LOL !

I will remember the original photograph as the "true" photo.

We all stood united that day, there was no reason to correct a spontaneous, unstaged, unplanned photo.

Ok, that is just so frustrating. Changing history to appease the politically correct crowd.

    What ever happened to Honor?

    sigh . ..

WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO REALITY IN THIS COUNTRY??????????? If the guys who did it were three white guys, then PORTRAY them as such. Three races makes a nice thought but life is not a best selling novel, it doesn't happen that way!!!! Good grief.

i just bought the new ones the other day. They have the original photo on it. I never saw the other ones. Personally, Im glad they put the original photo on the stamp now. Thats the way it happened, thats the way it should be portrayed.

If you type in Heroes USA stamp...and go to the link WTC stamp , you will see the three politically correct MODELS on the stamp.

It is also shown in the Capuano link, click on the stamp for a larger picture.
If I knew how to drag the picture here , I would.
    Maybe someone can assist.

Anyhow, I was asking myself, "Why did these three firefighters pose for the photo in the brochure?"

Why did they agree to saying they "feel humbled TO SEE OUR IMAGES ON THIS STAMP?"

My brothers would have said, "Hell NO ! "

Then, I realized the NYC Mayor or the Chief,.....their boss has
told them to look sharp and show up for the stamp picture taking.

The proceeds of the $$$ from the stamp collection sales goes to the U.S. Postal Service, with "a portion" being donated to a charity called the Bravest Fund, to benefit emergency service workers.
