Anyone got a "ring" thing?

  1. While I will admit, the mere mentions of diamonds make me weak in the knees, I am finding so many lovely gemstones out there. Anyone know of a source that I could learn how to judge their quality and what to look for to make certain I am getting good quality and value? Web site or book, either would be appreciated. Also, I would like to know your favorites.

I do not have a clue how to tell a stones value, but I do know if they are pretty I want one I love rings , amethys(spelling bites) diamonds, and now they are dispaying stones that have such clarity in a variety of colors. fun stuff. big honkin stones

Love those big stones. My fantasy is a four carat Tanzanite, Decemeber birthstone. My Heavens that is awesome. My daughter has a 4 carat sapphire I'm trying to con her out of, no luck so far. I've even been checking out the blue zircons, white zircons, and they even have this one that is tangerine in color. The number of facets are what makes the sparkle, I think??? Got to find a way to get to know my stuff, you have much better bargaining power if you do your homework first. And believe me, you walk in a store with a hand full of diamonds, you suddenly are treated like the Queen. Kinda funny actually. I've gotten some really great deals and then I like to keep my rings for awile and then trade up in value. Pays to be well known in one store. They treat you better. Ever watch the genstone networks? They have some kick butt deals!

Why not look at the best of the best....De Beers. They are, in fact, the world's largest diamond distributor.

I get all my jewelry from QVC and have loved almost everything. They have high standards on their jewelry and other products and best of all, they are good on prices and you can return it in 30 days ifyou dont like it. My mother is a gemstone finatic and gets hers there too. I get more complements on their jewelry than any other jewelry.

I love jewelry too. I like diamonds of courses, but I really love colored stones. My favorites are the blue ones, sapphires, tanzanites, and blue topaz, but I wouldn't turn down a ruby or amythyst. I don't care too much for yellow or orange sones, like fire opals or citrine, but I don't wear clothes in those colors either. I also buy from QVC and Home Shopping.
