Anyone else see King Kong?

  1. I was warned it was a real tear-jerker. It made me cry to have to watch it. Did anyone see it and enjoy it?

I haven't seen the movie, but the Burger King commercial for the King Kong Whopper (it would probably take me 3 days to eat that thing!) is a little bit creepy. In fact, that Burger King character is downright creepy, almost like a scary clown costume. I probably won't see the movie though. I know that it didn't do well.

I heard mixed reviews, so will more than likely wait til it comes out on DVD.

I really want to see the film, but I have no idea when that'll happen; probably right after the DVD is released! And you're so right about that commercial... the "Burger King" just creeps me out. But that sandwich the young woman is eating sure looks good, doesn't it? Which brings me to another point...

Why don't those burgers EVER look like that in real life???

Haven't seen it but I will. When the original was going to be on TV our Dad was so excited. It was a special occasion when it was finally on!
In the eighties I got to meet Forrest Ackerman, nickname Forry (4-e). He did work on the special effects from 1931 to 1933.
He was one of the founders of the Los Angeles Science Fantasy Society - http://www.lasfs.org/

You're right, Don. Those burgers NEVER look as good in real life as they do on TV. In real life, they look like they've been flung together. The tomatoes (which I don't eat anyway) are never that red, the hamburger is never neatly stacked. I agree, it does look good, even though I could never finish it in one sitting.

*shudder* that Burger King thing is the fabric of nightmares. How about when they chop that tree down and he is standing right behind it? I would have soiled myself.

Anyhoo, back to King Kong... I haven't seen it, probably won't. I read one review that said it was horrible, but then People gave it 4 stars. What's up with that? I'm interested in seeing what yall though of it though...
