Husband surfs on e-bay as often as I do on this board. His main purpose is to buy Dinky toys, buys about two a month. I have never tried e-bay, though I sometimes peep over his shoulder to see what he is looking at. I am very sure it is addictive ...

one doesn't have to have a credit card. they will take personal checks, just hold them 10 days. the way i got interested is that my brother started selling on e bay. he gave me his address, i checked it out. i don't care for his line (classic t shirts, and ones with funny sayings,), but i have used it to look for a certain line of clothing that i like. as for dh addictions, he loves the message boards, but doesn't post, mostly lurks........

Yes, darn it, very addicted! A friend got me hooked about 6-wks ago. So far I've spent about $1K on rings, bracelets, and other bobbles. Now, I'm into pottery and art. At least it keeps me off the streets, until I have to "work the streets" to pay for my habit.

Yes, I could spend hours and hours there.

Between selling CDs and buying them I just got my 280th positive feedback, which means I've bought a lot of CDs. EEK!

We even bought two cars off EBAY. One in Chicago the other in New Jersey. My husband and I starting selling on Ebay when it first went online. You could sell anything for $$$$. Now it's so big, I don't sell just buy. But my husband sells and does a litltle computer work out of the house instead of a regular job. Works great there is alway someone home with the kids.

umm...Deb, we're talking ebay addictions here.

Some of us have multiple addictions. LOL I hope you haven't had 5000 transactions on ebay. That would be a true addiction. LOL

I love e-bay, I just got a delivery today. You can find what you are looking for at a decent price and it is fun too.

My dh lurks there often, in the banjo section . He says you CAN get some good buys, however one must still be cautious and be an informed shopper/buyer. He has seen instruments advertised as one thing ("very rare and authentic") that were certainly NOT as advertised (he has schooled himself on the history of the Gibson banjoes in particular, since they started being made in 1918). He will usually politely email the seller w/his questions and they usually change the instrument descriptions, incorporating his suggestions. Most of the time the misinformation is a product of ignorance of the item, not intent to deceive.
    That said, happy shopping!!
