My family and I will be driving from Virginia down the east coast to Miami and then out to Key West. ...something I've always wanted to do.... see Key West.
I'm leaving a travel assignment next month and will drive to the next one. Any one got any suggestions on "What not to miss?"
What about Everglades Nat'l Park? Miami Beach?

Ooooo I loooove the Florida Keys. I have camped there three times. Sites not to miss....suggestions only
The big red float that says "the southern most part of the contiguous United States"
The show on the diamond in old Key West. It's a freebie, but the guy makes his living by performing there through donations. He performs on all types and all sizes of bicycles.
Then there are the hand made souveniers. Some are very inexpensive. Near the same area as the diamond. I have a pirate's head made from a coconut shell. You can get some really neat stuff there.
And tshirts are very very inexpensive. You can get a very nice one for around five dollars.
I know nothing about the night life there except there are a lot of bars and nightclubs.
The lighthouse near the tip of the key is very nice too as is
The pirate ship. That's a type of museum.
You can also get fresh maui maui, shrimp, lobster, calamari, and alligator to eat. The alligator is very mild and tasty.
And for dessert, I highly recommend the original Key Lime pie, and it isn't green, it's yellow. Yummmy!
I hope this info will help.
