Any "MUST SEE" suggestions for a trip to Las Vegas?

  1. My brother & SIL are going to LV in late April. Those of you who have been there, do you have any suggestions on sights "not to miss?" Any tips on getting around town easily, they will be focusing on the casino's with maybe a trip to Hoover Dam.
    Thanks for any ideas.

I haven't been there yet, but if they're into roller coasters at all, they might want to ride the one that's located on top of a hotel! I don't know which hotel, but I've seen it on TV and it looks SO cool! The view from up there must be amazing, if you can keep your eyes open. ;-)

They must see the fountains at The Bellagio hotel. I was there last year ( and going back this year) and found myself there almost every night, they are breathtaking, em...what else..The Amazing Jonathon show is hilarious, as long as your not easily offended!! I didnt do the rollercoasters but my b/friend did and he says they're amazing, too high up for me though
They'll find so much to see and do that they wont be bored for a second and if they get peckish the chilli fries in the Harley Davidson cafe are fantastic as is the breakfast at Bally's.
Hope they have a good time, Im off back in September, even though Im in Scotland Im sure Vegas is my spiritual home

The casino is the Stratosphere. The roller coaster is s-l-o-w. You can see the view from the platform, or take the other ride up there if you like thrills. They also have coasters at a few other casinos that are better if you like fast...

What do they like to see? Art, fountains, roller coasters, shows, comedy? It is all there. Perhaps they should get one of those visitor guides that lay it all out. There is just way to much to do there!

My favorite free sight seeing items are:
    1. Fountain at Bellagio
    2. Pirate ship at Treasure Island
    3. Volcano at Mirage
    4. Mardi Gras Parade Floats at Rio
    5. Inside of Mirage you can see White Tigers

You can see the first three at night with a nice walk down the strip. I suggest taking a bus anywhere you go, driving is nuts.

I took my kids to see Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo, it was a great magic show and reasonable in price.

Some day I hope to see the Hoover Dam and take a cruise on Lake Mead. There is so much else to see and do. I did not like Freemont Street, the light show at night was nice but the downtown area is creepy and everyone warns you not to leave the tourist area because it isn't safe. I would not go back down town. A fun little casion is O'Sheas, good drinks and I won at Black Jack there so I will return again someday. Have fun.

Last time I was there, you could see a few of the tigers in an enclosure...sort of like at a zoo. Have always wanted to see the show, but tickets are pricy.

You can see the tigers from a glassed in area. They're very pretty. Doubtful you could get tickets for their show. They sell fast, and they are very expensive. I got to see them for free, as my cousin is a mgr at the Mirage...

    Dueling battleships at Treasure Island

    Luxor...take a gondola ride...

Bellagio is beautiful. Artwork inside is even more so.

Forum shops...a nice place to dream (also the home of Planet Hollywood, unless it's moved) Check out the ceiling....unbelievable

    Liberace museum...not...
