Any Dishnetwork subscribers!?

  1. OK I am a subscriber, and i am little ticked off that , VH1,all the MTV, Comedy central and all the NICKELODEON( i have to have this in my house for son) and maybe BET channels will be removed from thier program because they can't agree. I for one will drop Dish in a heart attack if they lose these channels, they went up on rates because we so say got more channels, but its mostly those tv shopping channels :angryfire :angryfire
I could pay 60 dollars a month for digital cable and get all the pay channels, like starz, hbo, cinemax, show time, etc with COX. i pay almost 58 now to dish and only get starz and HBO, . I am just wondering if i am alone in feeling this way :angryfire

I got rid of Dishnetwork last month. I had no local channels and had to pay extra for the WB and UPN channels. Now I have digital cable. I have local channels, more music channels, and ALL the premium channels for $20 less a month than dishnetwork was costing. And they have the nerve to call cable providers "pigs" in their commercials. Drop them and get the digital. Just be warned, they're going to do everything they can to keep your business when you call to cancel. Be strong!

They told me they were going to drop those channels if Viacom doesn't back down on raising their prices. They sounded like it was a pretty good chance that Viacom won't back down, and they WILL drop those channels. They said you can have your say by contacting the CEO by email. Sorry, can't remember the email addy. but it's probably on their website.

hope this does not happen to us, too.

I have the dish sat. and I can't complain. We get all sorts of channels (like a couple of hundred I think). I can't ever remember what channel a show comes out on and even if I DID I have a hard time finding the channel. You have to scroll and scroll and scroll some more until you find something you like. Really it's more trouble than it's worth. I used to like to watch "Enterprise" but never could find it or remember what night it's on.
I never really got into TV that much anyway.

I also got rid of dish about two months ago. I pay less for my digital cable, with my internet and new phone system hookup. 64.00 month. I was paying 82.00 for dish with all the premium movies package. I got zoom internet, so much faster than dial up.

You've now eased my mind about cancelling my Dish Network installation after they did the "no-show" thing TWICE for installation. Grrrrrrr!

I keep trying to convince my husband that we don't need anything other than basic cable but he wants the sports channels. Go figure.

Since we live in a rural area with no cable service of any type available it is satellite or nothing. We have had DirectTV for awhile now and really like it. Yes, there are occasional problems with no service during stormy weather, but in our prior experience with cable (most recently Comcast) the cable would go out every time someone sneezed, it seemed like.

I would definitely recommend Tivo for anyone who can get it with satellite service. I dont watch much television (no network series or reality garbage for me) but it is great for recording movies and shows on TLC, Discovery etc. If you are a football fan it is a MUST. My husband, who is an avid woodworker, has it preset to record "New Yankee Workshop" every time it comes home and he never has to remember to set anything.

We loved the dish, but they have gone too far! I woke up this morning, and CBS is off the air. (along with all the nicks, comedy central, VH1, BET, and I'm not sure what else). I have to see Survivor! Dish was off far less than cable ever was in our location, and offered a much better selection of channels. The contract is up this summer, and will definitely have to check out Direct tv. They will be lowering the bill by $1/month they said. Big deal! I guess this is all over the country, right? Or only certain locations?
