Any Brits on board?

  1. I see most of you are in the US and someone is asking if there are any Aussies here.

But how about Brits? There must be more than me.

Of course! There's the ever popular sexy kilt-wearing donmurray. Then there's our sweetie Jevans... and our hometown Brit, NurseDennie... there are several, I can't remember all the names, but you're in great company and we are glad you're here!!

    Thanks for that LasVegasRN

I presume you are in Las Vegas - I will be visiting your city in October.

Maybe if I like it, I can get a job?

    Hi LinnetLegs

Welcome to Allnurses! I am not Brit, but I love the Brit accent.....would love to talk that way myself...so maybe one day we'll meet and we can chat BRIT STYLE! :kiss

Thanks cheerfuldoer - you wouldn't recognise my accent as your 'typical British accent'.

I am from Yorkshire. When I was last in the US, I was asked if I was from Australia or New Zealand.

I love the American way of life and I love American humor I see on TV. I have always found Americans so friendly.

THAT's refreshing to my ears.....someone who STILL loves the American way of life, and our wonderful sense of humor. :kiss :chuckle

Well......by the time you make your way around this BB, you'll really think we Americans have lost our minds because we are the silliest little allnurse siblings you'd ever want to meet....yep...we sure are, my lady.

yes!! I am from the UK- born in scotland but living in london and trying to educate the english- at least thats what my mum says!!

this is the best nurse web site I have found- cant believe how supportive you all are and it really is nice to know that patients are the same the world over!! I do admit to struggling a bit with the language at times- thought we all spoke english!! and love some of your terms!! glad I found you all.

Welcome to you, too, Karen! We're just as glad to have you as a member of Allnurses as you are to be here. Hope we don't disappoint you......Americans really are neat people, and there are so many other countries represented on this BB as well...so it's fun to learn so much about one another. We may live in different countries, yet we have a lot more in common as people than we might want to believe. :kiss

    Hi Linnet,
I'm a half Brit...does that count? My mum was a Brit and a DAR. I guess that makes me a DDAR! Maybe that's where I get the conservative side of me. And I just absolutely adore the British accent. Welcome aboard the boards! Cherrio ole chap! :kiss

Hello- I see we share the same thingmebob. I'm from Glasgow, been over here in LA for 11 years now. I still get homesick but I don't miss the rain one little bit.

I didn't realise there were so many Brits using this site. I'm from Scotland but live and work in Newcastle, its close enough if I feel a bit homesick. This is my favourite website and its rare not to find the information or link I'm often looking for. I smiled when I read about UKRNinUSA thingmebob.
