Anniversary gift ideas

  1. Hi,
I really need you all's help. My parents 25th anniversary is coming up next month and I am fretting over it. I have never really done anything special for any other of their anniversaries just b/c it wasn't a big thing in our family but I really want to this time. I already have friends helping me plan a surprise cookout party but I just can't figure out the gift thing. My parents are no frills, don't pamper themselves hardly at all kinda people. And I don't think that they would enjoy very much luxury, pampering kind of stuff. Plus, I am on a very, very limited budget here so I really need ya'll's help !! Please, give me some ideas !! Thanks !!

For my parents 25th anniversary, I went to a trophy shop and found a plaque. It had a very nice anniversay poem on it and we just added the anniversay date. They still have it hanging on the wall and they will be married 48 years in October.

For my inlaws we did a collage of pictures. Pictures of when they were dating and at least one of all the children when they were little and then pictures of the grandchildren. Stealing the pictures out of their house is the hardest part.

If they don't pamper themselves much, a gift certificate to a nice restaurant would be nice.

Thanks so much for the ideas, ptnurse. The only problem is that my parents are very hard up for pictures ~ they really don't have many at all. Please keep coming with the ideas !!!!! Thanks.

Well there you go, the perfect gift. Make the collage out of current pictures. All you need is a few rolls of film and some willing relatives. Or if everybody lives close together and you have a little time you could have professional shots done. Maybe one of all the siblings, another of the siblings and spouses, one of grandchildren and of course one of everybody.

My mom and dad just celebrated their 50th. My sister secretly flew in from Orlando, we got my moms baby brother and his wife to sneak up from Lousiana; we got them two 11x14 gold frames. One had their original wedding announcement in it, the other had a wedding shower picture of them in it. We also took a picture of them feeding each cake so we could put it with their original picture of them doing same. Then we had them a two tier cake.
For entertainment each of the children (theres four of us), had to make a list and read it aloud about things we use that they taught us; and then things we never use they taught us.
I don't know what it is for 25th, but you might could use some of these ideas. My mom and dad were so suprised. They really enjoyed it!

Ok, guys, thanks for the help and I am going to take you up on the picture idea and I have decided since my parents don't even have possesion of their professional wedding pics. I would make them a new album. All they have are some snapshots that a friend took at their wedding. I decided to enlarge these and put them in an album. But I really need help in finding a cheap way to enlarge these pics. I know Kinkos and those Picture Maker things can do it, but aren't they expensive??? Please give help to the "cheap one" !!!
