Anne McCaffrey

  1. Anyone else read above named author. I have been following the Rowan series for years. Had the Lyon's Pride for ages and just got around to it recently. See it was copyrighted 1994 and that Anne looks pretty old on picture on flap. Of course I was a huge fan of dragon series as a youngster.

I have read the dragon series, as have my boys. Loved them all. But I haven't read any of her work since then.

I have read most of her books..Haven`t seen anything new for awhile..her son has put out a few books..Wouldn`t it be fun to visit Pern? Just a visit, tho, sounds kinda cols for my tastes...I love authors who can create entire new worlds, that you want to visit...would be so cool...

Just did a search onher at Amazon, she has a "new" dragon book, but sounds like more of a rerelease of previous short stories...with one new story thrown in..And ,yeah< she`s gotta be getting up there..I read my first dragon book in the late 60`s...

I've seen a lot of her stuff while haunting 2nd hand bookshops, never tried one before as I thought they were not SF. Maybe I'll take a look.

I've read a good bit of her stuff. I like it. Of course lately, I haven't been doing ANY recreational reading.

You don't think she could be dead do you?

Nope - not dead unless it happened very recently. Her latest book has three of her "older" stories and one new one. I've been reading her for years especially like the Crystal Singer trilogy as well as, of course, her Pern novels.

Funny, but I've had one of her books "The Girl who heard dragons" around my house for about 3 or 4 years. Been meaning to read it but never got around to it. Are her books that good? It must have struck me as interesting at some point because I bought it brand new.
