By the way: Jon Stewart made a reference to this when he took on Bill O'Reilley just this recently on the Tonight Show. I'll get back with a reference to that....

Finally, Evangelicals have had, and in all likelihood will continue to have, a major impact on the social and political landscape in the United States. The Jewish and "mainline" Christian response to this influence often has been anxiety and hostility, based on the common stereotype of Evangelicals as religious fanatics out to promote their own agenda at all costs. A far better and more constructive approach would be for Jews to educate themselves on Evangelicals' real beliefs which often bear only a faint resemblance to the stereotypes and to judge them fairly on their merits and failings.

Maybe they're just reacting to what we see in everyday life?

Jews and Christians: a dismal attempt to sow hatred and divisiveness.
Just another attempt of the far left to make Christians look like "dangerous bigots".

    So much for tolerance....

Hey, so all those Christians complaining about the "secular" folks "threatening the very root of this great country" obviously have it wrong, right?

A long time ago, I pointed out that it is somewhat misleading to dismiss people like Pat Robertson as "kooks" and "idiots". The man runs a very successful and influential TV and media network - how does he pay them bills to support this? Obviously a lot of people watch him and support/ascribe to his views and support him through donations.

So is the ADL wrong in being nervous about this ?

The man by no means supports/represents all evangelical christians - but the ones he does, give pause to the ADL and casue concern.

    Is this wrong? Overblown?

This isn't the first time a member of the Jewish community has spoken out on this matter.

ADL should concern themselves more with groups who want to wipe their cultureoff the face of the earth instead of subscribing to the leftist political ideology. :hatparty:
