Published June 1, 2009 in the English-language on-line version of Pravda. Provides interesting Russian viewpoint of events and attitudes in our country.
It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.
True, the situation has been well prepared on and off for the past century, especially the past twenty years. The initial testing grounds was conducted upon our Holy Russia and a bloody test it was. But we Russians would not just roll over and give up our freedoms and our souls, no matter how much money Wall Street poured into the fists of the Marxists.
Those lessons were taken and used to properly prepare the American populace for the surrender of their freedoms and souls, to the whims of their elites and betters....

Quote from jolie
many americans wring their hands with worry over what the "rest of the world" thinks of us. they state that we invite hate and possibly even deserve terrorist actions based upon the poor image we present to the rest of the world.
Quote from jolie
others fret that the rest of the world views us as selfish and uncaring because we lack tax-payer funded uhc, and believe that we should unquestioningly accept a system similar to those in canada or great britian, because they are the "experts" on how to provide compassionate care to everyone.
here we have an article clearly stating the thoughts of a foreign observer who is indeed an expert on the subject at hand, and it is labeled, "mindless dribble."
why should we value the opinions of muslims on the image of america in the world, and the thoughts of the canadians and british on how we to care for our citizens, but not the thoughtful observations of one who has experienced communism first hand and sees similarities in our evolving culture? perhaps some are threatened by the parallels.
by "poor image" do you mean the bombing, maiming and killing of innocent men, women, children, and babies who had nothing to do with 9-11 and did not have any wmd? i "hate" it when the people in the drive through get my order wrong, i can't imagine how i would feel if they bombed my family. guessing i would hate 'em.
what do you mean by expert? did i miss this person’s credentials somewhere? how old was this person in 1991 (almost two full decades ago) when the ussr dissolved and one could argue so did soviet communism? how does being from russia make someone an expert on communism? are you an expert on capitalism? preemptive warfare? slavery? attempted genocide of native american indians? please. there are folks here with phds that are still
trying to figure this stuff out.
"others fret...unquestionably…", etc...who exactly is saying this? i am not aware of any dialogue that is taking place where people are assuming we should change our massively ineffective healthcare system without
question or discussion. i also am not aware of any canadians, britons, french, or australians that are losing any sleep over our healthcare system. where do you get this stuff from? there have been polls, interviews and opinions to be sure, but just how "concerned" do you think they are about our healthcare system?
we are about as much in danger of becoming communist as we are discovering that man coexisted with dinosaurs 6000 years ago.
