There is a deli/grocery near to me that is famous for their potato salad among other things. They have their potato salad on sale today. I had to wait in line to get service. So did the guy behind me and I had a feeling he was a bit annoyed. He made some sort of inoffensive comment and I replied, can't remember what we said. But when the sales person handed me my potato salad this guy pops off and says, "I can't believe there are people so lazy that they won't make their own potato salad." I sort of looked at him and walked away down the other side of counter. I would have forgot about him but he followed me. He repeated "I can't believe there are people who are to lazy to make their own potato salad. Why even I can make potato salad." At this point I spoke reasonably to him and explained that I was a fairly good cook but making potato salad was not my strong point. I know I was giving him more info than he was entitled to but my first impulse is to give a soft answer to a butthead as not to set them off. Once again I walked away and again he followed me complaining about lazy women who will not make potato salad. This time I turned an said, "Listen pal this is a free country and a person should be able to walk in to a store and buy @#$% potato salad without being harrassed. I walked away and this time he let me go. I went to the other side of the store where the assistant manager was standing and told him there was a goofball on the loose but he just stared at me as if I had two heads. So I checked out as quickly as I could and left. I got outside and started to laugh. What was that all about anyway.

I just told the above story to a friend. She says the guy was not a member of the potato salad police. That he was actually a member of the Talaban and is trying to keep women in their place by cutting off their access to convience foods. :chuckle
