Allnurses member needs our support....

  1. i don't usually start threads like this, but i feel this deserves some attention.

i correspond via personal email on a regular basis with one of our members, jailrn. she emailed me a couple of weeks ago that her 2 sons, ages 19 and 8, had been in a car accident. her older son was hurt pretty badly, but seemed to be showing progress in rehab, learning to do everything all over again.

i received an email from her this morning. her son died on friday, october 18. on his 20th birthday.

on top of all of this, her husband has been in poor health.

i'm deeply stricken by this. i posted this in hopes that some of you that knew her could pm her, and we could show her that we care. i cannot imagine what she's going through, but i do know that it would take every effort to keep going.

i did not get her "permission" to post this. i was torn as to whether or not i should post it, whether or not i would want it posted. i only hope that she understands that people care about her, and that's what we're here for. the good and the bad, to rally behind her.

my thoughts are with you sharon.

i have set up a donation page for jailrn from community members at:

i would be willing to arrange the purchase and delivery of the arrangement and have it come from the community.

My heart is breaking for the pain she is going through. I know there will be many prayers going to Heaven in behalf of her and her family. PLEASE let her know she has a family here that also loves her and we are here if she just needs to vent or anything. I'd give almost anything if only I could be there for her in person.

Dear Heavenly Father, In the name of your precious son, Jesus, we ask that you send strength, comfort and many caring friends and family to our sisters side. Please hold her up when she is weary and cannot stand alone. Please let her remember that she is never alone for not only are you carrying her and her family in these days of sorry, but others are coming before the thone, with her name upon their lips, asking for Angels to surround her, give her strength, comfort and ease the sorrow that is overwhelming this family. Though we cannot be with her, we know that you are and that You love her even more than we do. All of this we ask in the name of your son, Jesus. Amen.

Thanks for letting us know, Heather. I could hardly catch my breath after reading your post. I've sent her a PM, but I imagine her box will fill up fast, and her profile won't accept emails. If you speak with her or email her again, please let her know we're thinking about her.
