allnurses friendships......PLEASE READ!!!!!

  1. After having been seriously hurt by people that have claimed to be my friends, I have been very hesitant to trust and form close bonds with people. But I would like to say that through this BB I have formed one very precious friendship with Warrior Woman and am developing another friendship with a gentlman from this BB. In these times one must be very careful where we place our trust and many horror stories have been told of situations involving the Internet. I have written to several nurses on this board at one time or another and each one made me feel very cared for. I am very thankful for this BB. So I just wanted to say thank you to Brian for creating this wondeful site and to say thank you to all of you that have at one time or another came into my life and made a difference. I especially want to thank Warrior Woman and nursegoodguy for the joy your bring to my life and for your friendship. With Thanksgiving being upon us, do you have someone on this BB that you would like to share your thankfulness for? If so, please post it so that all of us can be encouraged to know that there are still good folks out there that are positive influences in our lives. It seems all we ever hear of is negative and bad things, let this thread be one of joyfulness and Thanksgiving. So often we forget to express our feelings to those we care for and lets face it, we are not promised another day. Let the ones you care for know it now, for another day could be too late. Warrior Woman and nursegoodguy, thank you for the joy you have brought into my life. You are both wonderful and special and I wanted to let you know this for I am grateful to this web site for making it possible for us to meet. All of you are important to me, you have been there when I needed support, advice and prayers. THANK YOU!!!

Duckie, that's very sweet to be so vocal with your feelings for them! I don't think I've been around long enough to say I've formed serious friendships or that someone here's had a profound influence on my life, but I would like to thank Brian as well for creating this site!

    Have a great day!

I consider Heather, Shay and Stargazer to be my very bestest virtual friends, which doesn't surprise me, because all of you are so very similar to my true-life friends.

I've also gotten numerous scholarly insights from WashYaHands and llg, who's actually a fairly new poster who hasn't even ventured into Off Topic yet I don't think. JMP also was able to, within minutes, provide me a link to a full text article online from Journal of Canadian Nursing that I needed so desperately.

With very few exceptions, just about everyone on here is my friend, and the good that I've gotten here far outweighs the bad. Big time. Thanks to all of you who have helped me both personally and professionally.

    Have a great holiday!

This board provides a great body of knowledge to Student Nurses.

I also want to thank Brian and the moderators

Dr. Kate and llg and many others for their gracious insight and wisdom.

ABrenrn, who has dropped off the radar screen. Soulmates, that one is.
Cheerfuldoer, who showed me that kindness and reaching out to others is the best way to help yourself; and reminded me that He is always there.
Cargal, who has always supported my sometimes wierd way of seeing things, but supported me anyway.

Yes, Duckie! Our Thanks-giving to Brian and the moderators.

As nurses, we must do and stand witness to some truly horrible things to perform our jobs. We give every day and too often you, my siters and brothers, do not take anything back. This BB has given so many of us that lift we needed at a time we needed it most. Even the flames have been enlightening at times.
So thanks to all of us. Thanks for staying with those dying, foul smelling, gross appearing, ill bred and forgotten people who need their dignity and ease as much as anyone. Gary

I'm glad Brian started this, this is a fun place to be. I have some favorites here, (you know who you are I'm sure), I really do not wish to name names at this time for fear of hurting others. I am happy to be a part of it, that's all!

    Sincerely, shygirl

I cannot begin to express how very grateful I am for finding such a magical place, which has enabled me to finally find a miraculous friendshp with Duckie that I have been searching for for so very long. I've also been hurt so many times by so many people, that I'd started to shut myself down emotionally. All I did was reach out to a person who was hurting so very bad. I truly believe that God took over from there, for through her patience and love for me, she has helped me to want to become a better person. There's nothing that we wouldn't do for each other. We can lean on each other any time we need to, and will always be safe in the knowledge that we will always be there for each other. I also am thankful for ALL of the rest of the nurses on this site, for EACH ONE OF YOU HAS TAUGHT ME SOMETHING VALUABLE, AND I THANK GOD FOR YOU EVERY DAY. Every one of you has held me up when I've been down, and I know that I couldn't have made it without your support, and I love you all so very much. Duckie, you know how I feel girl, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for me so much. I thank God dfor you each day, but you know that. And thank you Brian for this board. It truly made a miracle in my life happen. Bless you all, Warrior Woman.:kiss

I hate to start naming folks because I don't want to leave anybody out! There are a special few here that I cherish, and many more who make my life richer. :kiss

Dude, your true-life friends have tails and nose hair too? SWEET!!!

Susy just loves me 'cause I make her feel normal. I just love Susy 'cause she makes me feel like I can be friends with cool people.

I'm reluctant to start naming names here too, because I would still be going on and on 6 paragraphs later, like some weepy actress at the Academy Awards, as the orchestra tried desperately to "play me off." :chuckle

Suffice it to say that rarely have I had the privilege of meeting so many smart, funny, cool, outrageous and caring people in one place. And I'd love to meet as many of you in person as possible (Las Vegas, Fall 2003, baby!)

And poor, unsuspecting Susy has no idea that I'm gonna dog her like a bad habit for the rest of her born days. Hee hee.

I have met so many virtual friends hereand am grateful for all of them. I have also met several people on here in "real life" and have found all of them to be even better in person! I am so glad to have found this site and been able to meet so many nurses who have expanded my view and opinion of nursing!
