Alec Baldwin rant to 11 y/o daughter

  1. Alec Baldwin rant to 11-year-old daughter surfaces

LOS ANGELES-The festering bad blood between movie-star exes Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger erupted Thursday when an angry phone message from Baldwin to his daughter was made public.
On the recording, Baldwin can be heard berating his 11-year-old, "You are a rude, thoughtless little pig."
"You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being," he says, apparently upset that she did not answer her phone for a planned call.
"I don't give a damn that you're 12 years old, or 11 years old, or that you're a child, or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass who doesn't care about what you do as far as I'm concerned. You have humiliated me for the last time with this phone."
He goes on to say that he plans to fly from New York to Los Angeles "for the day just to straighten you out on this issue."

This link also has a link to hear the actual conversation. It's horrible. Wants me want to go hug my Dad. I think this is child abuse. If you listen to it can you imagine how afraid this child is after hearing this?

    it is child abuse...
what is the thing that she will most remember about her dad? the fact that he bought her stuff, or took her places, or used her as a symbol of his great fathering skills, or will she remember that he called her a pig...and brainless, and indecent for NOT TAKING HIS PHONE CALL...?
Apparently, mr. baldwin (no caps, cuz he doesn't deserve them) believes that all women in the world should worship him, including his daughter, and that they do not have the right to NOT TAKE HIS PHONE CALLS....
How delightful that a 12 year old almost woman showed the world who he really is....A BULLY...a self absorbed jackass of a man...
One can only imagine what he said to Kim on a daily basis....
Good for her for protecting her child.....

{It would be better for you if a great millstone were fastened around your neck and you were drowned in the depth of the sea."} -JESUS-

I wonder who released the tape...*clearing throat* Kim Basinger...I wonder how this child will be when she grows up between this battle...don't imagine great things from this horrific hollywood tragic family story.

This is a private conversation, I so disagree with whoever made the tape public.

Why? Even a fish can't get caught if he keeps his mouth shut. Private conversation is exactly the problem. I feel comfortable in saying this is not the first time she's heard language like that out of her Daddy's mouth. I'm sure the child turned it over to her mother who turned it over to the authorities or the press, whatever. I'm glad it was released. I don't care if he's a celebrity or a regular citizen, he was wrong, and he should be shamed by it. The child has sent her own message....don't do this me and think you can get away with it. She got him where it hurts the most and good for her.

    I agree with you.

Even if this child's mom released the tape . . .so what? It is child abuse.

Nurses are mandated reporters, right? Shouldn't moms do the same thing?

I have heard so many stories about kids who have been abused and mommy didn't believe them.

Alec Baldwin has always been a jerk - and this just showcases it. That tape recording made me heartsick.

It doesn't matter to me if Alec and Kim can't stand each other . . . it is time to grow up and act like adults and stop this mess.

We the public have no need to know this. It is for CPS, family court, social service, and/or counseling. Not the general public.

His excuse is that nobody understands what he has been through (i.e. his divorce) in the past 6 years. Lets all cry for Alec, boo hoo. I say who cares. Alec you're the adult you deal with it don't take it out on your daughter. She didn't ask to be brought into this world by you. If we crack down on abusive parents, both men and women, perhaps we'd turn out less young people who end up shooting up their schools to get rid of their anger and frustrations.

ANOTHER tape/recording that should never have been heard by the public. SHEESH I am glad to turn off the news. Journalism is becoming more like National Enquirer than anything meaningful these days. Disgusting. THIS concerns me how????

Who was the scumbag who gave this tape to the reporters, and what scumbag made it public?????

So much else in life to worry about.

I have no respect for either of the parental parties.

My sympathies are with this poor girl. God knows what kind of crap she will have to work through as an adult because her parents didn't know how to keep her out of their divorce.

this is not a mother protecting her daughter...if kim had wanted that she would have taken it to a social worker, and not given [sold?]
and who encouraged the dtr to not be there for her fathers phone calls
    maybe the mom?
dad needs to address this but the other parent has failed this little girl miserably

Once again, it has been proven that wealth and fame do not confer class and common decency.

I feel terribly sorry for Ireland. I went through emotional abuse like that as a child, and there is nothing that can erase the memory of being made to feel worthless by one's own parents. I hope she will have access to good therapists. She will need them after being raised by Alec and Kim.
