They don't think it's terror related

That's what I'm hearing too. Geez...I hope they're right. Terrible all the same with loss of life whether it be 2 ppl or thousands.

So far it seems to be an accident, but they've alerted NORAD and fighters are patrolling the area. Can't be too careful.

Of course, this isn't the first time a NYC high rise has been hit by accident. In the 30's (?) the Empire State Building was hit by a plane. Weather (fog) was a causitive factor. There could be other times, but this is the one that stands out in my mind.

NY Yankee pitcher Cory Lidle was the pilot of the single engine plane.

My heart goes out to the victims of this tragedy and the families involved.

This was all over the big-screen TV just as I was sending a comatose resident to the ER with a blood sugar of 22 (and this was AFTER I'd given Glucagon and done the ol' sternal rub to try and bring him around). My first thought was "Oh, God, no, not again"; then I was relieved to learn it was a small plane that accidentally crashed into an apartment building. Which is pretty pathetic when you think about it........but you know, tall building + smoke and fire + New York City=thoughts of 9/11.

I feel terrible for the Yankees player and the people in the building who were killed; my thoughts and prayers are with their friends and families tonight.

I must be strange. I'm probably the only person in the country who didn't think terrorism when I first saw it. Not sure why.

Me either - but I heard about it on the radio.

Of course all the talk this morning is "Bush planned this to bolster the Republican's chances in November" and the fact that one of the people who died is famous, the news media can keep talking about it for a long time and so Bush targeted Cory Lidle . . . . . .
