advise on a letter

  1. I want to know what you guys think about a letter i have written. I want the guy to get credit for what he did for me but i dont kno if i stated it well in the letter. what do you think?

I am writhing to you today to tell you about one of your exemplarily employees. M. J. is a man who truly cares about the patients. I have been going to Children’s Hospital for a LONG time (about 13 years out of my 18 year life) when I am there for an appointment or something and I have to get the parking ticket validated and M. is working I always go to him. I even wait if I have to because he has such a wonderful disposition. He also always remembers me. He asks how I have been I, is everything ok, am I feeling ok, or whatever would suit in the circumstance. He is always upbeat and trying to your visit to the hospital a positive experience instead of a negative one.
On April 12th I had the 6th surgery of my life, a few days later I was being discharged. I decided that I wanted to go down to Au Bon Pain to get a croissant. I was leaving Au Bon Pain ready to head back upstairs and I all of a sudden got very very dizzy. I saw that there were some wheelchairs by the windows and asked if I could sit in one and told him I was dizzy. He told me to hold on a minute and he went and got one. He then helped me to sit down and then, he took me back to my room. I told him he didn’t have to. That I could just sit until I felt better, but he insisted. When we got back to my room he helped me into bed and then went to tell my nurse what had happened. When I was leaving with my mom a few hours later he asked was I feeling better.
I will always remember M. J. as the one who went above and beyond for me. The one who cared. The one who helped.

    hi meg,

i think that anyone reading your letter, will immediately know how impressed you are with marcus.
i would ask that your letter be added to his file and that he too, gets a copy.

    be well.

I think it is a lovely letter and agree with Leslie's suggestion. Think it is important for people to write letters like that if someone goes out of their way for you, which is certainly sounds like this guy does. Good for you.

Also hope you are feeling better. Are any more surgeries needed?

Yes there is another surgery required my eye doc wants it the "not to distact future" my right eye removed. it is of no use and is only causeing problems so it makes sence. Right now i am feeling better though.

sorry to hear you are facing another surgery soon, meg. but an enucleation of a useless eye only makes sense to me. hope that will be the end of it then. you've sure been through a lot!

glad to hear you are feeling better now. you'll just have enough time to start feeling like yourself and then you'll be starting school. good luck in all your dreams. :kiss

    Hi Meg,

That was a very thoughtful gesture. "Thank You" - It means a lot to nurses.

In fact, it was a patient - someone like you with a gesture similar to yours - that prompted me to decide to enter pediatric nursing. You can read all about it here. In fact, that whole thread is awesome
