About one in ten

  1. One interesting thing I noticed while not studying for my exam tomorrow, is that about 1 in 10 people post who view....
    Just kinda found that interesting!

Only 10 % of us are addicted...seems statistically appropriate...

    give them time
hard to believe this one but I was once an evil lurker too

and now I'm a few posts away from needing an allnurses sponsor
    hehe
do we need to flash some skin or something to get them motivated to respond?
or would that just scare them away?

Oh, there is nothing wrong with lurking... we are all guilty of it I am sure. It is just surprising how high the rates of lurking vs posting are.

I am probably just having a blond moment, but do you need to get a sponsor at a certain number of posts?

What could we do to bring the lurkers outta there? I'd offer to flash too... that digital camera could come in quite handy.....but all they have to do is watch Girls Gone Wild to see me....

Hmmm. Could be due to lurking. I think it probably has more to do with people coming back to read replies, either to their own threads, or after they've posted.

For example, the "welcome" thread for new members. ("age, location...") I've only posted to it once, but I've viewed it probably a couple of dozen times.

I believe I'm the total opposite of a lurker.

True... very true... that is a good point. I guess that would probably at least half the stat ( if not more..) making it more like 1 in 5?

Just imagine HOW MANY ARE CHECKING OUT WHAT YOU WRITE.....few of us have BIG mouths to answer. Others just reserve thoughts but they are there, nonetheless.

    This is true

Postiness depends on the day, but always check back to threads to see the replies.

I don't think I post very often compared to some of the addicts I mean members here
But last year I tried to keep up with reading as many threads as possible, but now I don't have the time, I just pick and mix what to read and to reply to!

True but I have met at least one lurker and I think I know why he/she is that way - very shy about ability to communicate via a written medium. Seemed a little intimidated (By lil ole me?) about thier percieved lack of eloquence. As you will have undoubtably noticed I have never let an inability to spell, parse, type or use a computer keep me down from joining in.
