A haunting in Connecticut

  1. Just watched a show on Discovery channel by above name. Scared the heck outa me. Had no idea it was on, watched it by accident, strange thing to be on a science channel. Ghost stories don't usually disturb me but this one was done in documentary style and caught me off guard.

Ihav elong been a follower of "Fortean" phenomena and there are a lot of stories that cannot be explained. Channel 7 here in OZ recently had a show ehere they would get people to stay one night in a "haunted" building - they had to explore teh building and find things out during the night as a puzzle and there were "props" left in place i.e. a squeaking door. But one place - I think it was the old quarrantine station ( no-one stayed a whole night) you could here the real panic in the presenters voice as a rocking chair that had not been rigged started to move.

When you get ot reading about Quantum physics you realise there is more to the universe than most people believe and time may not run in a straight line..........

Watched it tonight too. It was interesting . I grew up with the belief that something like that happening is a very real possibilty. Not as frightening as The Secret of the Rosary by St. Louis De Montfort- that scared the crap out of me. It is very vivid on the topic of good vs. evil, the power of exorcism, power of relics, etc. i remember being very young reading that, it made me scared of the church. Add the fact that all the horror movies Omen, et al. -featured Catholicism.

At the beginning of the show I thought, "well it is a deeply religious and superstitious mother who is reacting to the illness of a child and leading the whole family into bizzare behavior". However, by the end I just did not know and had to admit the universe is not only stranger than we imagine but is stranger than we can imagine.

I saw this movie. I was glued to the TV. When hearing others tell stories about what happened to them, I am skeptical. However, when something actually happens to you, it can be realized that there are many unexplained things in this world.
