"Signs" w/Mel Gibson

  1. just rented the dvd and it was not what i expected. i thought it would be more scary than it was.
i liked it, and it was even one my kids enjoyed (which, at their ages is a major miracle)
anyone see it and if so, what did you think?

i want to see it so bad, but everytime i go to the video store they're all out of them. i really don't want to buy it, so i'll wait...it'll be there eventually.

OK, I saw it at the movies, AND rented it the day it came out. I loved it! I'll be buying it soon!

I was absolutely terrified at the movies, but also found that it didn't have the same "scare factor" at home on the smaller screen. Even Brian watched it and enjoyed it (he's 8). But I have never been so scared at a theater before!

    Loved it!

Me, too! This was definitely a different kind of part for him, though.......shows how versatile an actor he is.

The movie wasn't exactly what I'd expected, either, but it was good, and in several parts we all got the s**t scared out of us.
That little Culkin kid was kinda spooky, too. Of course, we all laughed like hell at the sight of Joaquin Phoenix with the foil Hershey's Kiss-like thing on his head.........

    Yes, us too...................too funny
There was a lot of spots that got a laugh, which we didn't expect either.

I liked it when they were running around the house and Mel was trying to sound tough.

    "I cursed!"

Yeah, that was hilarious.....especially in view of some of the other movies Mel's been in where he used language that would've made a drunken sailor proud!:chuckle

I didn't think it was the greatest story, but really liked the movie anyway. Like you have mantioned, lots of humerous stuff mixed with lots of suspense, and of course...Mel.

Just saw it for the first time a few days ago, and have been afraid to go out to feed the pets a night since!!!

Want to see it but am afraid. Hubby doesn't like scary movies so I have to watch it when I'm home alone. Last time I did that I watched the Blair Witch Project....never again....

I liked the way he was scared, REALLY scared, but he does what needs to be done.

My boyfriend and I went to see it at the theatre, and it was pretty scary there. BUT, he bought it the other day and we watched it w/ freakin surround sound...........sheesh!! I wasn't scared as much as I was jumpy..
