"Should we bomb Iraq and "take out" Saddamm?"

  1. I've heard a lot on the news this week about how the president is more than ready to begin the Iraq offensive. The only thing delaying the assault is this Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This morning, Rush commented that the prez " is getting impatient to begin, even though he does not have American"s popular support, or world support." The prez has been quoted as saying, "he's outa there." Quoted this week. Do you support a war against Iraq to remove Saddamm Hussein?

This is ridiculous. Saddam is a dangerous psychopath, no doubt about it, but we have no business talking about this with the Israelis ansd Palestinians still at each others' throats. For one thing, it makes GWB look like someone with a very short attention span, and for another, we will NEVER get the political or tactical support we will need in the Middle East to defeat Saddam until the Israel/Palestine issue is solved, or at least in repair mode.

And here's what I can't understand--why are we talking this up so much? Could we POSSIBLY give Saddam any more warning that we're actively gunning for him? "Coming after you now. Okay, not now, but soon. Real soon. Don't you be getting any smart ideas about building up your arsenals and military, and stockpiling nuclear and biological weapons of mass destruction in the meantime, 'cause we're coming to get you. Pretty soon now. Maybe in a month or two." I know Saddam is smart enough to know that we're coming after him eventually, but do we have to draw him a *******' timeline?

I agree that there is too much on the news about this. However even if there were no news about this he knows that we are already there! Why do you think that he lifted or is talking about lifting the oil embargo? Why do you think that some of his troups are defecting.

He needs to be taken out and should have ben along time ago. The conflict between Palestine and Israel cannot interfere with what we need to do. If we waite for that conflict to be over we'll be waiting for the rest of our lives and then some.

No, we should not bomb Iraq. We have been bombing them on a regular basis since the early 1990's, and it has done nothing except cause unbearable suffering for the people of Iraq.

By the time George II gets done screwing everything up and angering the whole world, we'll be lucky if there is anything left of this world.

Trouble is, where do you stop? Saddam is seen as needing stopping, but once you go down that road, who is next, anyone who doesn't subscribe to your point of view?
