"International pressure is on! Prisoners now are being served Pita Bread!"

  1. On CNN at 4 a.m. , this morning, their was one of those long and newsy discussions about the prisoners, oops, "detainees". The announcer was going on about how our allies are criticizing and pressuring us.(re: the Geneva thing) Then he said, "One thing has been changed, the detainees' are now being served pita bread with their meals!" I nearly choked on my Cheeto ! The bagel vs. the pita bread. It seems half the world picked up on our ignorance and lack of sensitivity. Or was it just our meaness showing? We've got 158 prisoners...the plan was to bring 500 right away, and "eventually" 3000. For now transporting prisoners to Cuba has been suspended. International criticism......

Maybe the fact that it's costing us (US) money to feed, supervise and house them (detainiees)has something to do with it. If we could free up Bin Ladins money that would be great to use that instead and be able to take on more detainees.

Appropriation of funds, I would rather see monies $$ used for our military, ie. soldiers to make them more comfortable, and not spending it on more detainees to make them more comfortable.

It's more about Appropriation of funds in my view. The soldiers are defending our country, the detainees are not.
