"Do you eat/snack while on your computer?"

  1. I'm developing a bad habit. The first five years I had my PC, I never ate at the computer. Then it was coffee or a Pepsi. Then I had a few cookies with coffee.....now , I've advanced to a sandwich with my keyboarding !!

Definitely not a good habit. What about you? Snacking and browsing?

Have you noticed the computer has taken up where tv left off... I'm waiting for someone to rename tv dinners into pc dinners!
A drink is a must while at the computer, (just be careful...)
I think it's okay to have a little snack while you surf or whatever you do on your pc but maybe it needs to be good for you, like a bunch of carrot sticks...
Oh what the heck am I saying hand me another handful of chips and a ding dong too!

I eat breakfast at the computer after I get home from work...
Or sometimes dinner before I go to work...or lunch when I wake up!

Heh heh - I'm guilty. And what's worse is that I spent years and years as the computer manager and TELLING everybody not to drink/eat around their computer (terminal at that time).

LOL - First time I broke my own rule, I was at my friend Enrico's terminal eating Greek food (worked for Country Music Association and it was Awards Show time, I was at his computer terminal because it was closer to the big printer and I'd been working like 22 hours straight) and sure enough - dumped taboulah ALL over the keyboard.

Now I'm not responsible for anybody's computer but my own and I eat or drink if I feel like it. Nothing really is at risk except the keyboard, and I've got about five of them stacked up from old computer - I have one that's really CUTE taken out of a really old-timey "Laptop" And they're not that expensive - CompUSA is less than a mile from here and stocks cheap keyboards if I ruin one. They're even open late.

The one thing I would still recommend is not to smoke where your computer is - those smoke particles are LOGS to your disc-drives. But it's your computer!!!

I only do it when my bf isn't here to throw a fit about it. It's technically his computer, but I have yet to spill anything on it, so I will continue to eat my cookies and milk here and read allnurses.com postings.

I'm not home very often. When I'm not working or sleeping, I'm parked in front of my computer. Confession: I bought my computer for the sole reason of getting more into allnurses.com. I used to have to rely on internet cafés.

Anyway, when I'm in front of my computer, a person's gotta eat. I've always got water, coffee or some version of breakfast in front of me. I know, very bad for the hardware!

I'm usually at work when I'm on the computer. I usually eat at my desk & peruse allnurses.com & cnn.com while I'm eating. I admit to having fried a keyboard when I spilled water on it a couple of years ago! Live & learn...& keep that drink away from the keyboard!

I've been eating and drink food around the computer since I got it... but now that there are kids in the house.. well, lots of money has gone into replacing keyboards and mouse's but I've not learned from it....

While skimming the topics saw this one. Just reading the question before reading the entries drove me to go get a cookie and a cup of coffee to nibble and sip while I enjoyed reading. (amazing- it really was A cookie and not cookies---- Chocholate ice cream may come later) Dennie-thanks for the tip on smoking- I don't but --maybe my daughter will think about her computer since she doesn't about her lungs, arteries ect.

Why just today alone, I ate watermelon, canteloupe, tuna salad on 100% stone ground wheat bread, 6 ounces of grape juice, water...of course, a few badly crumbled Lay's potato chips, and chewed a stick of gum.....all while sitting at my computer.

Watching T.V., hubby came home from the Exchange with a fresh baked Cinnabon for me. I put off eating it...you know...trying to be good...eat healthy...... Well...would you have just let that hot squishy delicious Cinnabon go to waste? I rest my case then. :chuckle
