"Camp Bow Wow" anyone?

  1. We have been looking into buying a franchise for Camp Bow Wow. Not crazy about the name but the rest of it looks wonderful. They are based out of Denver Colorado and there are 75+ locations throughout the US.

Camp Bow Wow is an upscale Dog Kennel, Daycare, Overnight, Day spa.

Dh being laid off 4 x since 911 is sick of the corporate world and wants to be his own boss. We have 7 dogs. Seems like a perfect business for us.

Just wondering if any of you have a Camp Bow Wow near you? Actually used one? Any particular words of wisdom starting your own business and purchasing a franchise to do so. Thanks Guys!

It may be a good idea, obviously a growing company. It's hard to find good kennels when you leave town.

I think buying a franchise may depend on where you live, or where you would open the Camp. It's not a basic kennel, so you need people with the money to indulge their dogs, at least live within driving distance or have transportation available. Also a piece of land out of town where barking won't offend the neighbors.

It would be a time consuming proposition, especially at first. The people who run the kennels where my dogs stay take off about one week a year. They also have restricted hours for pick-up/drop-off, which must be scheduled. My dogs do enjoy their visits, as they get free time in grassy areas, and aren't restricted to runs for the whole visit.

A friend boarded her dog at this place, it sounds similar to Camp Bow Bow.

Hope it works out for you. I can't blame your husband wanting to try something else!
