  1. Hi guys, starting the thread because by the time I hit "reply" it will be midnite anyway ... lol

    From Thursday thread:

    Quote from Alois Wolf
Good morning everyone! I'm new around here, so I figured I'd stop by and say hello! Introductions can be a bit tedious so I'll just give you a link:
    My Introduction
    (http://allnurses.com/forums/f192/int...ml#post2463113)

I hope to be seeing y'all around, but for now I'm
going to go to sleep. I work midnight shift
(23:30-8:30), so to all of you, I bid you a good day.
    :zzzzz
Hi and welcome! I will get to reading your intro tomorrow but wanted to say hello - we all enjoy ourselves here! Everyone ALWAYS mentions insanity when we get a new visitor, can't for the life of me figure out why - anyway - glad you got your feet wet!

    Quote from stevielynn
... - just finished filling out reams of online paperwork regarding my benefits at my new job.
Maybe the paperwork is part of the intelligence test for the job - often the most challenging part of orientation!

    Quote from compassion1
(re insane people on the thread) I'll let you be the judge of who they are. LOL Not me, of course.
Had my EEG this morning and I'll see the doctor for the results tomorrow. I'm praying he allows me to drive again. I just don't know how long my job will accommodate me while I go through this episode in my life.
You are ALWAYS SAYING it's not you - and you're the WORST ONE! Well, except for (looks right and left...) you're right, I'd better not go there!

I pray that your results come out favorably! I'm sure God's got it all figured out tho Marilyn! xo

it's taken nearly 50 years for me to realise that holidays are for resting, and I'm gonna make the most of it!
Enjoy it Fone and come back refreshed!

I hate dreading it all day thinking I have to work tonight. And then up all day tomorrow.
I do that too sometimes - anticipating that my free time is almost over, so I can hardly enjoy the time I DO have...

He had been in IVI Lasix for 6 months and yet he still got bigger and bigger and B I G G E R.
Kidneys knocked off plus he was at end stage CHF. Nothing more could we do for him apart from comfort measures. He struggled with his breathing besides he was in cardiogenic shock. It was simply the Lord's time to take him home.... He was a faithful man who was going to teach me how to make biscuits instead of rocks LOL
... He has written so many songs for his church. I pray they get published.
Ah, past the point where it could be helping anymore. The poor guy. I can imagine he was hardly recognizable to his family by now. Thank God they were able to be there anyway - and the pastor.

Cute about the biscuits, wonderful about the songs - I love it when I get to be more than "just the nurse" but a true comfort and friend, and he was more than "just a patient". You were such a gift to him and his family!

    Quote from compassion1
I often wonder what our patients say about us when they arrive in Heaven. When their deteriorating bodies are sound and whole again. I think it will be interesting to talk with them when it's our turn to take that trip.
What an interesting thought, I never thought of seeing them too but of course!

    ... got some not great news about a friend's career/future ...

    ... will try to post some animal halloween costumes [rats cannot do it }

... have to work xmas [so what?] then 8 days off with a viewing of Momma mia ! over new years !
    Aw, {{{{{{{{{{{Muffie's friend}}}}}}}}}

Posting pix is pretty easy, a little time consuming, but if you feel like playing try this thread which explains. I have to go to bed now but if you don't want to mess with it and still need it tomorrow, I sure will do it! Mayhap you will have to remind me!

As to holidays, I always volunteered to work, for people who wanted to go to big family gatherings. I basically only had T. and so I'd let his dad take him, and we would celebrate before or after the holiday.

Good Evening Everyone, Good Morning Soon to Come!

I've been rather punie the past few days, sore throat, headache, runny nose, etc...I went to work today and they sent me back home. Dh out of town all week so even though I've been sick I've enjoyed my time at home alone.

{{{{{{{{{Dutchgirl}}}}}}}}}} Sometimes getting sick is the body's way of saying "Slow down!" or "I've had enough ..." Now don't get too sick to enjoy it! xo

    Muffie and all,

Here is a site w/ a bunch of pets dressed in costumes (some are the same as the ones you sent). Those poor pets - no wonder they chew things, pee on other things, bite, snarl, hiss, refuse to eat, barf in foot-trod places, treat you nicely so you won't abuse them anymore with weird clothing... Can you blame them? sniff ...

What an interesting thought, I never thought of seeing them too but of course!

At my brother's funeral service 5 years ago, I was comforted (and amused, in spite of the occasion) to read one of several brass plates that lined the walls of the gazebo in which his service was held.
This particular plate was etched with the deceased's name, birth date, date of death, and then a quote of her choice: "If you could see me now!!!"
    I liked it.

I've had a nice, quiet evening.
Read a mailer from my high school, with updates on school happenings and alumni.
Our 35th reunion is in April 08, and I'm planning to attend.
I'm older, grayer (no Miss Clairol here ) and a little heavier than when I last attended a reunion, 15 years ago.
    But hey, it's just me.
I graduated from a boarding academy (the one and only year I attended a boarding academy), which is SO different from regular high school.
One lives, goes to classes and works and plays with one's classmates (and the underclassmen/women as well) at a boarding school.

I was told the smoke outside was "really bad" today, but I was indoors all day (worked 2 hr OT) and by the time I walked to my car, the sun was down and I couldn't smell much smoke in the air.
The winds have died down, and hopefully firefighters will be able to better contain the fires, slowly but surely.

Well, I'm off to get ready for bed.

    Y'all have a good day!
    It's certainly FRIDAY!!! YAY!!!!!!!

I've never been to my year's HS reunion, grew up in a "rich" town and never felt that I measured up - people were very unkind. I did go to an all-class reunion for the school that was a barely veiled fundraising attempt, I brought a camera to hide behind, that was kinda fun, and I was skinny enough to go that time ha ha...

Did go to my 26th nursing school reunion this month and had a pretty good time

{{{{{{{{{{{Dianah}}}}}]] school on for the kids tomorrow?

    Hello, all! Good morning! :kiss

I'm hoping to get a morning workout, pick up a few odds and ends at the grocery store, study my A&P material, and clean my very sloppy house. I got off to a small start by cleaning the soap scum from the shower and garden bath tub. I also cleaned the toilet bowl. Hopefully I can conjure up the motivation to do more cleaning for my domicile later today, because this place really needs a deep cleaning before winter truly arrives.

Take care, and be sure to have a fabulous day!

Commuter, good luck with the cleaning!

Yes, Zoe, the kids are off tomorrow.
However, I will be at work.

Gonna go read and then off to sleep!

    Later!
