I was diagnosed when I was (130lbs) 19, hairy armpits, chins, legs, and other places hair shouldn't grow. For the longest times, doctors thought becuase I was in sports that was supressing my ability to have a period. Didn't really have that big of weight issues until about 22, since then the pounds keep coming. When I got married to my husband at 19 we started on clomid, it did nothing but making me crazy. I had extreme mood swings, worse than PMSing. That did not work, and I sort of gave up and told my husband that if it was meant to be it would happen. Nov 04 (I was 21yrs old) I thought I had the flu, turns out I was pregnant. Delivered baby girl (5lbs, 14 ounces) at 36-37 weeks as we did not know when my period had been as I hadn't kept track, and I'm not even sure I had one. My daughter is now six and we are still trying. I did have a miscarriage (2010 May)at about 2 months. Very depressing and heart wrenching experience. I have been on medroxyprogestrone and no luck so far. I have been seeing an OB. I have gotten a referral for a specialist, but just feel like I can't bring myself to go (not sure what kind of mental block is holding me back). Husband has great swimmers (22 million?) with good shape, size, and all that great jazz. I'll be 29 on the 23rd of this month, and think that my the time my daughter turns 7 (July) I will force myself to see a specialist. But I keep praying that I have a miracle. My weight now- 5'6, 175 lbs. I have started laser hair removal for my arms and love it!
Berfore I started taking the medroxy I had 3-4 periods a year. Hope that helps, and feel free to PM me.
Quote from mystory
I am recently diagnosed with PCOS and am concerned about my ability to conceive. I am not asking for medical advice, as an informed patient and NP student I have done my research on the condition., know the stats, protocols, etc.
I am asking for your experience. If you feel comfortable sharing (I know it's personal, I actually think reproductive issues are the most personal issues for women), can you tell me about your experience?
i.e. were you able to get pregnant, did it take an unusually long time, did you have to seek fertility medication, did you lose weight/follow a special diet.
Thank you in advance, and best wishes to all us women with this diagnosis.
