OMG Bottle Flipping!

  1. Just checking to see if anyone else's tweens/teens are as obsessed with bottle flipping as mine is. It beats a lot of other things he could be doing, so I try to let it go as much as I can, but some days the thump.....thump......thump.....thump.....makes me CRAZY! Sometimes I have to send him outside just because I can't take another second of him flipping a water bottle onto my kitchen counter and table.

And if he lands it on the cap? Katie bar the door, it's a celebration of epic proportions.

I just don't understand the draw. Guess that's the generation gap talking.

LOL . . . we had a discussion about this recently over at the School Nurses Forum related to no water allowed at lunchtime which morphed into bottled water and bottle flipping.

It is here in our community as well. I mentioned that I made a young lady stop doing it at a football game where she was standing directly behind myself and my mother-in-law. It was very distracting.

^^ That water bottle thread was probably the most entertaining thing I have read all day!

So far that is NC and CA....my cousin in Maryland says her son (almost 13) does it incessantly too. All we need is someone in Idaho or Montana or Alaska to say their kids do it too and I'll believe it's swept the nation.

The school nurse forum is really good. They have a great sense of humor as well. That's where I met Farawyn.

Even though I no longer work as a school nurse, they welcome me to comment. I'm big on lice.

I've never been a school nurse and I feel nothing but welcomed there. I mostly join in on the fun threads like the pink on Wednesday.

And my nephew was doing the water bottle flip thing at Thanksgiving dinner. Personally, I'd rather play flip cup. :looks innocent::

My 8 year old is big on bottle flipping. It drives me nuts! I tell her I'd rather she do flips or cartwheels: she does flips and cartwheels *everywhere* we go.

O.K. . . My wife and I don't have children, so we're out of the loop to when it comes to things like this. So, I ask: What is "Bottle Flipping"?!?!? Never heard of the term until now. . .

ROLMAO! That is cute! LOL! (I've done that before, for the kicks and giggles. Just never gave it an official title!)

    Thanks!

    It IS cute.

I first thought it was about what my sister used to do.
Baby bottles were made of glass then. When she was ten months old she liked to lie on her back holding he bottle to drink.
She flipped it by the nipple when it was empty. My job was to take it as soon as it was finished so it wouldn't break.
