4Feb 25, '14 by Ted, BSN, RNROLMAO!!! Very funny!
Curious. . . What program do you use in creating "Cartoonland"?? Good work!
Well, I just woke up. This is my last night off from work. I'm getting ready to fire up the "musicians" within my happy computer and work on an orchestral composition that I started about. . . ohhhhh. . . . FIVE months ago. It's the third in a serious of four "orchestral art songs" that started about 3 years ago. This one is titled, "Fall in Mid-September". They're free-form in structure which is why I'm describing them as "art songs", but without the lyrics. LOL! I'm stuck on this particular piece. Not sure where to go with its development. Like I said, it's "free-form", but I don't want it too free (if that makes any sense).
Oops. . . the two canine family members heard me walk into the studio. Now they're wide awake and saying "It's time to go outside!" "It's time to eat breakfast!" "It's time to be loved and adored!" LOL! Gonna take care of the doggies while the computer and "musicians" get ready for music-making. LOL!
3Feb 25, '14 by Sabby_NC, BSN, RNGood Morning Davey, Ted and all who pop in for a natter,
Davey I laughed my head off quietly as I am sitting up in the loft and did not want my raucous laughter waking hubby up but WHAT a way to start off my day rolling around giggling. Thank you for my post I feel I do not need to say any more. LOL
Hi Ted I hope you get enthused and creative in your music endeavors, let the mind take over and flow out that sweet sound.
Awesome day at work well until mid morning when I started having these weird flashes in my right eye like lightening bolts shooting off. I phoned my ophthalmologist who ordered me straight in for a visit. Seems like we have gel at the back of the eye near the retina that shrinks as we get older and there is a very small % that the retina can get pulled away as this is happening.
Good news after having the eyes checked from every conceivable angle and dilated to the size of the moon that no damage has occurred although this will last for a while. Yay me I have my own disco ball in the right eye. I will return to see him in 4 weeks then 8 weeks and so on to ensure no damage is occurring although if the symptoms get markedly worse I have to hightail it back to him.
I did complete my visits although vision was blurred and I kept my sunglasses on so my last two patients kept stirring me about being a sexy nurse in dark glasses. *sighs* Ha but they loved my dark black eyes when I took my glasses off. Any way I needed help doing an INR check as I could not see well enough to drop the blood where it should go, so one of my colleagues came to my rescue. Next time I go the appointment is in the afternoon and I plan to just come straight home not try and work, that was some silly notion of mine that I would be fine. I can be such a dufus at times.
Came home and one of the gazillion smoke detectors was beeping, they are wired in to the power supply but have battery back up so I had to determine which was beeping and then fix it. I found the offending detector and placed a new battery in although I put it in backwards. &$%$^&& it is so high that I had to leave it for hubby as I did not have the stomach to try and switch the battery around.
Beep- get stuff out for Shrimp Stir Fry- Beep- cut up the veggies- Beep- Get the wok out- Beep try and coax Banjo in- Beep 'heck no way Mum that thing is scaring me' Beep- and so forth until Joey pulled up in the driveway. Thank goodness he was directed straight to the BEEP and asked puhhhlease fix it now I am ready to beeping well go off!!! LOL
Phew peace again reigned in the house hold and all is well, doggies were fed, hubby was fed, fruits and veggies prepared for juice this morning and this girl relaxed for a while as the eyes slowly came back to normal.
Hope you are all doing well this day, enjoy yourselves and keep warm as the temps are diving again!
Much love to you all.

Sabby I hope your eye is OK
Yesterday was pretty productive. My phone stayed quiet until the afternoon. As a result I was able to get quite a bit done, including working on my backlog. While the phone rang like crazy in the afternoon I got enough done that I didn't have to take my laptop home like I planned!
But I also found out that working at home will be delayed by anywhere from a week to a month. No one is sure because some steps in the process were skipped. Hopefully it can be rectified soon. Will have to buy a train ticket for next month, something I hoped to avoid.
Didn't do much the rest of the day, was tired and kind of down about the delay. Could have used some wine or some ice cream, but my diet won't allow that so I had to make do with sugar free jello and sugar free whipped cream. Oh well
4Feb 25, '14 by aknottedyarnGood morning all. What fun first thing out of the gate this am. I got my light done and am now on my way to some coffee.
Sabby, the eye sounds awful. Prayers said to keep the disco out of your life. I wonder if some of your meds have any effect on the eyes this way. I love to blame everything on meds, not age.
Ted, we all know your compositions are superlative, great. Please work with your "musicians" as I am waiting impatiently for your next work. Where is my whip when I need it?
Joe, I am convinced that all businesses are expert at skipping steps. My take on it is that they did not read enough cookbooks. Step by step is how you get something wonderful. Too often little important things are missed. Any of us who write or wrote P&P learned how difficult it is to write the simplest of tasks. Too easy to gloss over them, as "well, you know, everyone knows that". When you are changing systems it becomes a huge hiccough. Hope they fix it soon.
Davey, I love your sense of humor. You are so talented and creative. I always thought of Sabby as the energizer bunny. I guess super woman is really more appropriate.
Well, time for that coffee and rev up my day. Have a great one. No more driving with dilatation of the eyes!
