Tuesday - December 3rd, 2013 - Good Morning!

    Good Morning!

I can not believe that we're into the month of December and that the year 2013 is nearly over! 2013 has flown by so quickly. Sure do wish that time could just slow down sometimes. Geeze.

It's 4:17 AM (EST) here. I'm awake and I wish I was sleeping.

Later tonight begins the first of three work-nights in a row. So, I'll be doing my usual sleep/eat/work routine. Had a very relaxing day with the wife Monday. All we did was some minor house chores, paid some bills, and then just relaxed in front of the television and watched re-runs of our favorite shows. Didn't write one note of music, though. I'm at a section where I just don't know where to go with it (how the music should be developed). I'm having "writer's block" which is easy for me to get. Hopefully this coming weekend will be more productive music-writing wise.

Hope all is doing well. Looking forward to seeing pics of Steph's new grandchild. Saw your hiking pics on FB, Sabby_NC. They're lovely pics!

Warm regards to all who travel here. . .

Good Morning Ted and all who pop in,

Ted so good to read you had nice days off from work, does the soul good to get in some relaxation and achieve some of those things you wanted to. Do not worry about the mental block with your music, it will come to you and if you are like me sometimes it is when you are laying in bed so warm you do not want to get up but you want to pen something down. It happens to me when an idea for a poem or article pops in my head. Glad you enjoyed the photos although I should take my camera with me when we go back to the last hike we did.

Wonderful day getting around to visit with my patients, nice to catch up with them all again although one gives me concern so shall check on this person later in the week if not called before then.

Came home and baked some salmon with some fresh veggies for our supper, sure was delish, I could eat salmon just about every night but I guess I would get sick of it. hahaha

Pups were happy to see us home again and I did a little run around with them outside while cleaning up the yard for them. Made it more pleasant because it was a little mild and no wind.

Hope you are all doing well, get out there and make a difference in the lives of those you care for or are surrounded by.

    Much love to you all.

    Morning Ted and Sabby

Got into work early yesterday, but it wasn't necessary, the day wasn't that bad. I've decided to take it easier and not push myself to get everything done unless it's really necessary. Not easy for me but I'm learning to leave stuff that's less important for later. Should make things less stressful until I can find another job.

Going to start thinking about the Christmas shopping, I think the holiday will come sooner than expected.

    Good morning!

Yes, Ted, I couldn't agree with you more about time flying by!

Thanksgiving was a nice family day with my mom and sister. We smoked a turkey and tried a few new recipes that were very yummy! We are creatures of habit and tend to have the same menu every thanksgiving, so it was nice to find some new recipes! The rest of the weekend was relaxing with nothing pressing that needed to get done.

I'm working my usual 24 hour shift today. I have a good crew and hopefully will have a smooth shift.

Wishing everyone else a smooth shift as well!

    TTFN!!

    Sabby:

I sent links to the post with your article to nurses and family who know about hospice.
One is a pen pal I've written to since 1960. She is now a retired nurse in Melbourne. President Kennedy encouraged high school students to have pen pals in other countries.
We both became nurses and liked Star trek. our husbands played golf.

EACH AND EVERYONE I SENT YOUR ARTICLE TO THANKED ME!

I hope some join allnurses.co because of this.
But even my rN sister has not joined.

Good morning all from the sunny (but cold) mountains.

I've been off AN because I got a new computer (MacBook Pro) and I didn't remember my new password for AN and I was in another state where I didn't have access to the notebook where I put the new password.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving vacation and became grandparents as well. My daughter-in-law was having contractions off and on Thanksgiving day so my son was the main cook (and the food was oh so good). They finally went in the next day as she was leaking amniotic fluid stained with mec. Had the baby the next morning at 7:41 a.m. 9 pounds and 10 ounces; 21.5 inches long and a baby girl.

I'm thrilled - but it was hard to leave on Sunday and come home. I wanted to cry but wouldn't let myself.

Now, back to the real world. I'm not sure there will be photos - the parents want to post first and now I think they are having issues with privacy. It is a bit different to put your kids photos out there on the internet. I get that.

I haven't caught up with all the GM threads yet . . . give me some time.

    Enjoy your day!

Just read through the other GM threads.

This is my FIRST EVER grandchild. Born on November 30 at 7:41 a.m. and yes, I was there all night long with mother of the baby's mom. Yes, I saw her born. Amazing.

Ted - yes, I did take my computer out of the box up in Oregon at my son's house and with his help, got set up.

Comgrats to you, Grandma. Big baby. Was she late? Somehow I thought your DIL was due 12/1 but could be wrong. My memory is not great.
Hi to all. I finally got a moment to sit and enjoy. I had to drive to an interview and then visited my MIL. I love her dearly. She had a stroke almost a year ago and can no longer drive as the stroke was in her visual cortex. She was so upset to hear than my SO had died of a stroke. It got both of us crying about her DS, my DH, it has been years and we still miss him greatly.

DSS stopped by and took more things that have been stored here. Of course I fed him, and he raided my pantry. Somethings never change. He also took the extra Keurig that I had at the office.

Other than that same old stuff.
Enjoy the rest of the day.
