5Feb 16, '14 by Sabby_NC, BSN, RNGood Morning Dear Friends,
Up way too early on a Sunday but the dogs were restless so I sent them outside to do what dogs tend to do then came in ate their breakfast and are fast asleep so you tell me what is wrong with this picture? LOL
Wonderful relaxing day yesterday spent inside pottering around, playing games on the computer, I love those hidden object games with a real story where you have to work out what happens next.
It was too windy to be outside for long, frigid temps cold enough that our younger pup Newly was shivering when he came back inside so I made sure after that he did not hang around outside very long at all.
Hoping to get them out again if the weather is nicer today so they can get in a good hike although we will just go to the closest trail and let them run their legs off for some good exercise.
Not much on the agenda for me today other than a nice long nap this afternoon and some more cooking. I think it will be a beef and shrimp stir fry for hubby for supper.
Just a little nail maintenance for me and some more letter writing which will not be so bad although I am thinking if it is nicer today I may get out and do some more snow shoveling.
Was hoping we would hear from some one who could scrape our driveway but so far no luck. I am worried if the snow does not start doing some melting I am not getting out of the house tomorrow as I would only be pushing the snow with the nose of my car then get stuck! Now that is not an option for me!
Hope you all have a most excellent and fun day.
Much love from me to you all.
4OOPS! We Posted 3 Minutes apart, Sabby.
Good Morning! Sabby.
Hopefully, the Moderator will Merge my Post into yours, since you "Got there First".
And you're Much Nicer than I am. All in all, a better Person. More Deserving. Lower Maintenance.

5Here. Let's Try This: I'll Copy my Post over Here and Try and Delete the Old One.
Obeisance and Salutations to All who Enter Herein. In Other Words....GOOD MORNING, BREAKROOM BUDDIES!
I'd like to Start Off this Good Morning! Thread by telling you about a Dream I had during my Last Sleep Session. Spidey's Mom (steph) was in my Dream.
Now, I believe in the Premise that People in Our Dreams are merely Symbolic Representations of Various Specific Portions of Our Very Own Personalities. They are We and We are Them, so to Speak.
Anyway, steph and I are sitting in this Large Class-Like Room, in Hard Chairs, much like those typically used in a Classroom. There are a Number of Empty Chairs to my Left, Right, and Behind, pushed up against the Walls. steph is in the Position a Teacher might be in, at the Head of the Class, with the Blackboard behind her.
Come to Think of it, the Room Currently Impresses me as one of the so-called "Dayrooms" on the Mental Health Side of the Hospital where I Work. That Particular Unit is currently not in use. That may Symbolize Something, I don't Know Right Now.
To get on with the Dream: steph and I are seated, facing Each Other, approximately 15 feet apart. She tells me that I have Poor Posture. Her Concern is that, if I don't Improve my Posture, I'm going to Grow to be a Bent Over Old Man.
Initially, I am Upset with steph's Perspective. But then, almost Immmediately, I Realize steph is giving me this Information so I can Improve Myself, and I am Grateful for this Information.
That's it. That's the Dream, or all I can Remember.
So, I guess Applying my Premise to this Particular Dream, my Subconscious, through steph, is telling me that I'm a Slacker! And, I'd better, as my Old Blind Great Aunt use to say, "Straighten Up and Fly Right, Sonny! Do you Know Me?!"
I don't Know. Comments and Feedback are Welcomed.
And, as Always, DO have a Good Day!
6Feb 16, '14 by Joe NightingMaleMorning Sabby, I hope the snow melts. We're getting more snow tomorrow.
Morning Davey, I had a dream last night too, can't remember it too well.
Got a late start yesterday. Took care of that billing issue with AT&T, shouldn't be a problem from now on. Went and saw dad later. He's completing preparations for a trip to Florida with his ladyfriend. Lots of people around here are heading there, to get away from all the snow.
Also bought a desk for work. Should have had dad help me take it home, it was a real struggle to do it by myself. I'll probably put it together next weekend. This week I'll move out the old computer and computer desk.
Started the diet yesterday, so far so good. Some hunger and cravings but nothing I can't handle. This is the strict phase of the diet, it should get easier later on. Lots of cooking involved.
Will do some more cooking today. Also supposed to work on CEUs as well. Might get outside too, didn't yesterday as it was pretty cold.
4Feb 16, '14 by BCgradnurse, MSN, RN, NP GuideGood morning!
We got another 10 inches of snow yesterday. Meh. Next year I'm hibernating. The sun is out now but it's pretty windy. I guess my snow denial didn't work. Denial never does.
I just finished the shoveling and now am waiting for oatmeal to cook. I like the real stuff-steel cut oats-that takes a while a to cook. The instant stuff is too mushy. I add brown sugar, nuts, and dried fruit-yum! Going to the movies later to see "Winter's Tale". My friend's and I are huge Downton Abbey fans, and the lead in this movie is one of my favorite actors from the series. The movie didn't get great reviews, but I'll probably enjoy it anyway.
Hope everyone is well today. I hope you're all dug out, if you were snowed upon. Winter will end soon, right?
3Good Morning !again, All. Joe. BC.
Hey- once a Week, on Sundays, on my Way home from Work, I stop and visit my Little Sister Cat. I am with her now and I want to Introduce her to you All.
Cat is a CNA and works with the Developmentally Disabled as a Trainer.
I'm going to sign off now and turn the Computer over to Cat.
Don't Believe a Word she says about me, okay?
6Feb 16, '14 by Cat DeI don't know what to say, probably because my crazy brother Dave gave me shock treatments as a child using the electric fence, and I haven't been the same since. Until this day, whenever I get a static electricity shock, I have flashbacks of my childhood.
I enjoy reading what people write and look forward to seeing if anyone has a demented brother like I do.
Just in case you need to know who I'm talking about, it's Davey Do RN.
4Feb 16, '14 by aknottedyarnGood morning all. For many of us snow is a preoccupying thought. We are due a bit more overnight Mon- Tues. I don't think it will amount to much, but...
The other morning there was a huge crash on the PA Turnpike that took over TV half the day. That on top of the relentless TV weather coverage on our local stations makes me really tired of snow. I cannot complain about having to shovel. I have not had to do more than clear off cars. Well, my frustration is tempered by the knowledge that spring is only 31 days away. Usually where I live any storms in March are short lived and not too bad.
The other day I did not make it to look for clothes. By the time I got done driving my friend it was late. Everyone who had to cancel had appointments stacked like cordwood. After the appointment we went to a favorite Mexican restaurant, and I had a fantastic salad. There was enough to take home for another meal.
I also had a dream I sort of remember, very unusual for me. It was that I was dying my hair and got dye on the ceiling. I suspect in addition to the knowledge that I need some hair maintenance there is also the concern that I may move soon. My landlord is nice but wants to raise my rent by $100. Where I live is not worth that kind of money so I may be looking.
Well, tonight I will enjoy the Olympics and then be done with them for another 4 years. I have enjoyed some of it but have not been impressed with the coverage.
Well, time for more coffee. BC and Sabby, and all who are out there, please be careful with all that snow to shovel. have a good day.
6Feb 16, '14 by BCgradnurse, MSN, RN, NP GuideHi Cat!! I don't know whether to be jealous of you or offer my condolences for having Davey as a brother. Maybe a little of both....
I hope you'll join our dysfunctional, but happy little family here.
5Feb 16, '14 by aknottedyarnHi Cat. I always wanted a brother and can only imagine what it was like growing up with Davey. I do understand being traumatized by siblings, my sisters did it to me with a snake.
I can say nothing bad about Davey. He designed my avatar.
Please join us for our coffee and chit chat. We welcome all and never discuss bad stuff.
