Sunday 1esstee Dec

Morning all. Toss those teddy bears ad arise. Tomorrow I am off to the big city for the volunteers garden party. Should be a fun thing. Next year marks 50 years of my volunteering with the Flying Doctor and 14 with the ambulance.
Weather has turned cool here. Too cool to bring cyclones. We need them as they bring our rain. Could be a dry summer which is not good for the cattle producers.
Nursing a cracked rib. My worst leg decided to buckle under me and I collected the corner of the kitchen bench. No expletives were said--it hurt way too much!!
I booked a glider flight for when I am down south. Should be fun. Don't have to worry about engine failure!!
Best go and greet the world.
    Hooroo for now.

Good Morning Michael, Herring and all who pop in,

Ouch Michael sorry to read about the leg buckling and you cracking a rib in the process, ruddy painful things. I am so sorry that Mr Paget is being so mean to you but I pray this does not interfere with you enjoying yourself at the garden party. Now that sounds like a lot of fun to me and WOW 50 years next year, congratulations to you.

Hope you are all doing well this day, I cannot believe it is already December but then again time waits for no one, still contemplating putting up the Christmas Tree although we have to get one first hahahaha, cannot find our tree stand so we will have to go get one I guess!

Another relaxing day yesterday although we did a hard slog up the side of a mountain and through forests, we found a huge biking trail that goes all over the side of this mountain and along another rivulet so we plan to head back there again today.

Dogs and ourselves were worn out when we got home and actually slept for a while, was lovely to get out while the ground was still white, hiking boots make a difference and it is easier to walk on harder ground. I swear the dogs smiled the whole time we were hiking.

Banjo has amazing instincts and he found our way several times and of course he can smell the water so it was easier at times when we did this. Our leg and butt muscles are sore and will be stretched out again today. hahahaha

Have a few little things I want to take care of then it will be relaxation and Nana nap time.

Speaking of that CONGRATULATIONS to Spidey's Mom to the newest addition to the family- Grandma must be so over the moon with her first Grandchild. So happy for all the family.

May you all have a most magical and blessed Sunday.

    Much love to you all.

Good evening, Michael, good morning, Sabby and Herring, and good day to all who pop in as the day progresses here.
Michael, what a mixed bag - cracked rib, Mr. Paget being obnoxious, lack of rain, the garden party, so many years of volunteer service, and my fantasy, the glider ride. You certainly cover all of the feelings on any feelings chart.

Sabby, I get tired even reading about your hikes. Even if I were into such hiking I could never take my dog. She has to be on her leash almost always. As a sight hound she will forget all her training if she sees any wildlife.

Today is football day. I get to enjoy watching one of my favorite players, Larry Fitzgerald against the Eagles. I rarely get to see him other than highlights just because of the way games are televised. I think I am recovered from all our turkey and fixings. Soup is in the freezer and the pie is almost all gone.

If you are on the roads today, do be careful. This has got to be the busiest day on the roads with everyone returning after the holiday and so many at all the stores and malls. I have few plans to be on the road. I think I will continue my reading until it warms up.

Congrats to Spidey's mom on her first grand. I do hope she was able to be there for the big event. I know she was hoping to be around.

Heading for my first coffee. Have a good one.

    Good Morning -

Congrats to the new grandma! What a wonderful celebration for your family and Blessed Birth Day for the new family member! We Rejoice in your Joy, Steph! (We also look forward to seeing pictures! Heck you can store and fine-tune edit the pictures on your new MBP!)

Michael - 50 years in the healthcare field is worth celebration! Much respect to you for the work that you've done throughout the years and the work that you continue to do. (Hope the cracked rib heals soon! Ouch!)

Sabby_NC - Wish you'd take pics of your hikes! When you describe them they seem like, 1) lovely adventures and 2) a real physical work-out! What a great activity to do to keep in shape and at the same time a wonderful activity to fill the spirit with nature's wonders.

aknottedyarn - staying at home on a cold, busy-traveling day sounds like a relaxing thing to do, today.

Currently, drinking First Coffee. Gotta get ready for church and choir rehearsal(s). Nothing much else planned for the day except to write more music later this afternoon/evening. Had a great time visiting with family and friends yesterday afternoon. Lots of laughter, lots of good food, more laughter, more food. . . and LOTS of gratitude for family and friends (and food).

Peace to all who travel here, today!

    Michael, wow, 50 years!

    Morning herring

    Sabby I can't believe it's December either

AKY I don't plan to do much driving today either

    Having my coffee too Ted.

And congratulations to Steph, I didn't know she was expecting another grandchild

Slept in yesterday, then went out for a nice long bike ride. Was rather tired by the end of it, but I'm feeling fairly good today. Did the cooking for the upcoming week as well, so that's done and out of the way. Stayed up to watch "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" on Svengoolie, seen it several times already but it's still very funny.

Today I'm going to meet my dad for lunch, will have to remember to bring the birthday card, as it's his birthday this week. Nothing really else planned for today, might take a brief hike since it's not going to be too cold. Like to take it easy on Sundays since the work week starts.

Have been thinking more about my job, about what's gone right and wrong and how I can approach the next job differently so I don't experience the same levels of stress. Trying to think more about my goals and values and which direction I want my life to take. Which is something that's easy to lose track of.

    Mornin' to all.

We are up at dawn again, to get up to the mountains to do more music at the coffee shop.
We played from 0830 to 1pm yesterday.
    Prolly do same today.
Ppl seemed to like it; the coffee shop owner did!

It's a long stretch, tho'... nice to take breaks every now and then!

Once we get home it's the usual: grocery shopping and laundry.

    Y'all have a good one!

    .

We do not let our dogs off their leases hon when we are hiking- only one place we do is at the school where we walk the trail around there and it is completely enclosed so we shut the gates and let them go crazy running there.
