- 2Nov 2, '13 by Sabby_NCGood Morning Dear Friends,
I am up early but that is ok as I plan to get ready early enough and head out to get the grocery shopping out of the way, will come home and put those away then get ready to head up on the Blue Ridge Parkway as hubby has found a trail we can walk the dogs and also (hopefully) get some great photos of the changes and colors in the leaves.
Once we get home we will get a crock pot full of chilli underway and let that slow cook for hours, then once that is cool will freeze it so we have something quick, easy but delish to put in our tummies when it is cooler.
I managed to get all the house work taken care of when I got home from work yesterday, other than a little ironing which I will tackle later on we will be relaxing and just enjoying hanging around our home.
I am already organized for work next week, have planned my schedule so I do not have to worry about that. Will be an interesting week but praying it turns out well while observing this RN who will be with me.
Hope you all have a most magical day no matter what you get up to.
Much love to you all.
- 2Nov 2, '13 by efiebkeGood Morning -
It's 6:59 AM (EST) here.
Yesterday was a "day of adventure". After much thinking, planning and procrastination, I finally switched cellphone providers! For years, I used Sprint because if was the ONLY cellphone service that was available to use when we moved to our current home. The ONLY one. About a year later, other cellphone services used the tower that we can see from our front porch. Never been satisfied with Sprint. Despite having a cellphone tower within visual distance in front of my home, reception has always been lousy. So, I finally switched to Verizon which will probably be not much better. But I get a 22% discount for being an employee at the hospital where I work! YES! The big adventure, though, was that I finally purchased "smartphones"! Yep. I'm now a proud owner if an iPhone 5c. I know that it ain't as fancy-schmancy as an iPhone 5s, but it's way more powerful than the regular cellphones we used to use. I've already "synced" our music libraries onto our iPhones and even started with the video-face thing with Amy. (Doubt that she'll use the video-face thing as she refused to look into the "smartphone" while we tested it out! LOL!)
Sabby_NC - I hope that all went well with the nurse you were working with needing time-management support. For some people, it can be difficult to develop.
aknottedyarn - Just thinking of you. . . keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.
Well. . . I have to get my contact list from my own cellphone onto my new one. They couldn't transfer the list over at the Verizon place. Not 100% sure I did the right thing except that Sprint really, really annoyed me when I was talking to my father on our cellphones (he's on our plan, too, as a gift from us) and we would always lose connection. ARGH!
Later on, might even try to write some music. Just not feeling all that inspired.
Take care, folks.

Ted I recently switched from Virgin Mobile to AT&T. Then switched back, Virgin Mobile has better reception in my area.
Yesterday at work went fine, except that a migraine hit. The stomach trouble was a warning sign. I was able to control it and it went away after a few hours. I just took things slow at work.
I'm lucky when it comes to migraines, I only get moderate pain and fatigue and some nausea. Many people are completely floored, can't eat and really severe pain. And most of the time I can control them with OTC medication. Though this last one was pretty resistant.
Spent the rest of yesterday shopping and running some errands. Today I'm going to try riding the Illinois Prairie Path which has a bunch of branches that cover much of the western suburbs. Hopefully it won't prove too cold. Might get some more bike equipment too.Last edit by dianah on Nov 2, '13

I did not.
Your bike trail plan sounds good! Let us know how it goes.
Mornin' to all!
Ted, congrats on the smart phone!
I'm sure you will take good advantage of all its features, and I hope the reception is everything you want/need.
There's always tomorrow for composing.
Sabby, the boys will love that trail, I'm sure!
Looking forward to photos from you!
I'm getting ready to go do the music this morning.
Y'all have a good one!

I did manage to get a few hours of sleep. Now I'm at a loss regarding what to do with my day. Dh and Spidey and a bunch of familes headed out to the woods with a big trailer to get firewood. I have the day to myself and not sure what to do. My house could use some Sabby-jnette cleaning. But cleaning is so boring and you have to do it every day and things get dirty and messy all over again.
It is clouding up darn it.
Joe - I have satellite radio and listen to NYU Docs . . they had a really interesting show on migraines last week. Lots of calls from people about when their migraines started, how they manifest themselves, how to treat them.
Ted - we've had AT&T since the beginning. It was the only cell service up here initially but now there is Verizon. Our service is fine, no real complaints, not switching.
Well, gotta make some decisions . . . . . check in later.
