Good Saturday to you all. I see no one has started this yet. Hopefully we won't have a duplicate thread. I am up early, been awake since around 2:30 am. I took my son to urgent care around 9pm to have an ingrown toe nail fixed. We had been doing home remedies for some time but it didn't get better on it's own. This problem is common in our family, unfortunately and we have each had the procedure done once. We know the tricks to prevent this when a problem first arises. My son has a high pain tolerance and didn't mention it until it was really bothering him. Poor guy, so after some tylenol, a prayer, a kiss on the cheek and an elevated foot on pillows, I think he is asleep now. I also loosened the dressing, I think the medical assistant put the tape/dressing too tight. Poor little guy, he was so brave. Any prayers would be appreciated. I will try to to go back to sleep soon. Wishing all a wonderful Saturday.

    Good morning!

Thanks for getting the thread off to a lovely start, nursefrances.

As usual, I am posting from work and will get off in approximately 10 minutes. I plan to head to the gym this morning if my mind and body allows me to do so, and once I arrive home, I'll sleep in since I have the night off.

    Have a great Saturday!

    Morning!

1* with the wind chill factor and we are supposed to go out putting tracts on doors! oh my doodness that is cold, I am hoping they will cancel today. also supposed to change over the decorations in the auditorium, then will work on editing my novel some more. Exciting to be progressing some more - had to finish writing the synopsis and it was helpful, since the middle of the book was not entirely clear to me. Yee haw!

NF I hope your son recovers quick

    Morning Commuter and Liddle

Was pretty tired most of yesterday, had an HA and a lot of sore muscles. Probably tension, I figure. Did get everything done at work at went out for a bit after work with some of the people there. Got home and went to bed early.

Not much going on today. Supposed to go to my sister's tomorrow for my nephew's birthday but we might get a winter storm so the party might get moved to next week.

Still fairly cold here although the weather should start warming up fairly soon, which is good. Get tired of being inside all the time.

    Morning all

Up early to have some quiet time before getting ready to go to the "big smoke" (thanks Michael). It's my weekend off from hospice call (YIPPEE) and we are meeting up with other parents to take kids to the batting cages this morning. Then, the day is ours. I was hoping to get a walk in along the River Trail but there is a deluge of rain that just started here. Hopefully it will work its way through early and we can have some sunshine. Also going to meet up with son #2 who had a birthday on 1/17 which we didn't get to celebrate.

I've had to help with ingrown toenails when I worked at a doc's office - ouch! Fortunately never had one.

Hope you all enjoy your Saturday. Regardless of the rain, I know I'm happy to have some freedom.

    Good day all.

I have been up for hours also. I just dismissed all the dust bunnies living under my bed. Do you believe they dragged in odd socks to sleep with! And here I blamed it on the washer and dryer. i guess i owe them an apology.

Planning to clean and rest my back frequently. This is the first break and I suspect many more to come. Still drinking the cold coffee from hours ago and will make fresh next break. TG for Keurig (yes Frances I did read this morning). I get coffee, he gets hot choc. and later I will have Eng. Bkft Tea. I wish I could find Irish. Close but not the same as EBT.

Michael, get some good sleeps in and then we expect a full review. I cannot imagine going from your hot sands to the whole landscape filled with ice. You would find Scotch oclock more often if you lived near BC or Liddle. I suspect Joe could also supply you.

When i moved to the arctic i got off the plane and said to myself "My God, What HAVE I done?" I ended up loving the cold crisp air and the beauty of the area.

Batting cages, we have not finished football and wrestling and already baseball?

Best get going. Unsupervised those dust bunnies might try to get together again, or steal more socks.

Enjoy the day. Still cold here.

    Good Morning one and all,

Have read your posts. Michael I cannot wait to see if you managed to take some photos or at least hearing about your trip WAY down under!!

NF I am sorry to hear about the little guy having to have the ingrown toenail fixed. Praying it heals quickly.

I hit the floor running this morning, got the house work taken care of including cleaning the jacuzzi and shower bays. Gotta love that bathroom kaboom does a great job.

Have nearly finished the drying of the clothes just a couple more to dry then hang up the clothes. Tossed a pot roast on for hubby with baby carrots and taters, starting to smell good and each time hubby comes up from his man cave he drools over it. LOL

Watered the indoor plants upstairs and finished polishing the wooden stairs. I also washed the kitchen and bathroom tiled flooring while hubby graciously went and did the grocery shopping for me as I was too nervous to think of driving out our white icy driveway but he did fine and got all the goodies for me.

This afternoon I play to play a game on the computer and find time for a wee nap before we have supper this evening and our time relaxing back in the jacuzzi while we natter.

Ended up not working yesterday as I had an early morning MD appointment then it started snowing, sleeting etc on my way back. The road I would have had to go on to see my first patient was a sheet of ice so I phoned the office and told them I was going home. They all headed off not long after me anyway.

I phoned all my patients to ensure they were all safe and had all that they needed which they did as I had ensured this earlier this week due to the impending weather but still I wanted to do a tuck in call just to ease my mind.

Hope you all have a most sensational Saturday.

Much love I send to you all.

Yes, Sabby.... it was treacherous out there yesterday! We, too, all left for home around one pm. I drove dh's old faithful 4x4 truck which helped a lot on the snow/sleet mixture, and there were hardly any vehicles on the road either, so I made it home just fine. It was bird heaven in our backyard when I got home..every kind and color. Was nice watching them from the warmth of our kitchen.. must have been 2 dozen birds or more at the three feeders and on the ground below.

Lovely out today and back up to the mid fifties this coming week. Yay !

Nrs Frances..do hope ds is feeling some relief. That sure can be painful.

Liddle.. hope you didn't have to go out..way too cold and could be dangerous. Stay in and stay warm!

Speaking of cold... Michael... wow! How awesome. I'm with the rest here.. we want ALL the scoop and lots and lots of photos! Glad you made it there and back safe and sound. What an experience! Jealous!

Steph.. you enjoy your weekend off! You, too, Joe. Commuter.. enjoy your night off. AKY.. hope you and those dust bunnies got thing settled. Quit feeding them socks, and they might head to a neighbor's instead.

It has bee a crazy two weeks here.. sorry I've been out of the loop. Lost TV, internet, and phone for three days last w/e due to the 12" snowfall, then the bitter cold and wind after that, and yesterday the sleet storm. Hope it's over with now.. yeh right. February and March can be crazy, right? Ack!

Just doing a whole lot of nothing today besides my usual w/e chores around here. At least it's not quite as frigid as the past several days.

Guess it's a good time for a wee nap... might stay up and watch a movie tonight. You all take care and enjoy your day !

Well, the weather turned out gorgeous! Didn't get that walk in but did enjoy our day. Sorry the weather is so bad where some of you live. Michael - looking forward to more details!

aky - we practice baseball year round with a couple of dedicated volunteer coaches (one who coached college baseball) who are simply trying to teach fundamental skills that get missed during actual baseball season. They are both wonderful men who are great encouragers to the kids. It's a fun time for the kids - elementary school to high school. Not a lot of kids show up though and that's sad as it is a free option.

There was a slight breeze and sunny skies with some amazing cloud formations by the mountains. As we came home the sun was setting and the clouds turned bright pink against the snow and blue mountains. So pretty. I kept my window down as long as I could.

Had a nice lunch with our 28 year old son. Did some shopping. Went to B&N for coffee and books. It was all good.

Son and dh went to the basketball games and I ordered the movie "Hope Springs" with Tommy Lee Jones and Meryl Streep. It was good and very true-to-life. The only problem was Steve Carrell as the therapist - I kept expecting him to do something funny.

Now, time for bed. I'm exhausted.
