New nursing novel

  1. 2 Just read this new novel about a nurse's romance on Amazon called Andrea's Story: A Tale of Modern Passion and Obsession. Has anyone read it and what do you think? Really would like to know what people thought of it? Warning, extremely steamy! Also very interesting.

The English in the description is very poor, so I doubt I'd enjoy it. Otherwise, it just sounds like porn with a nursey theme, and if I had to guess, you are or know the author.

Good luck with all of that.

That is what I initially thought as well, however it's written in an email format which accounted for the grammar. I was hooked from the 1st chapter and it is very graphic but it's definitely not porn. It appears to be about her infatuation with him and his perceptions. It was also a free download. Travel Nurse in Pittsburgh emailed me the link. Worth reading. Haven't ever read anything like it before.

Very good, very sexually explicit. Read it all in one night, definitely the raunchiest read ever!
    The one review on Amazon.

    Umm, no thanks.

    Blech.

Yeah I don't do sexually explicit - not my cup of tea so to speak. I don't care either way if other people read it though. I just find the story line described as a bit incongruous. Give me a good Stephen King, John Sanford or Lee Childe book and I'm a happy camper.

I was a huge Stephen King fan in my 20's.

I'm deep into Lee Child - Jack Reacher - now. I'm in the last chapter of Make me. I'm not happy about little tiny (not buff) Tom Cruise playing the character in the movie. Another friend who is a fan and wasn't happy about Tom . . .said he still does a good job in the movies. We shall see.

Those 50 Shades of "Hay" books were not on my list as well.

I'm wondering if the OP is the author? Just joined in December of 2016.

Haven't read a Sanford in ages but King and Child definitely. Read everything by them. Re reading Songs of Susannah now. This book is very surprising because the sex is not the subject matter. It's the relationship of this couple and how she becomes obsessed with him and the fact it's written in an email format, makes it almost like private snooping.

Thought Cruise did a good job as well especially with the first movie.

I don't think I could stand anything in "email format" . . . I don't even use a Kindle or any other reading device.

I like my real books. But that's probably another thread.

Stephen King has made an interesting resurgence in recent years - his work has become more introspective but still scary as heck! My most recent favorite is Dr. Sleep.

I love Jack Reacher but hate Tom Cruise in the role. I tried to watch "Never Go Back" Last night and go about half way through before I had to turn it off.

You might like John Sanford books Lucas Davenport and Virgil Flowers characters are terrific. With Davenport You almost have to start from the beginning and there are something like 20 books. Virgil Flowers is a stand alone series that came out of the Davenport Series.

I am a published author did some short stories and poetry in the 1980's. I have been toying with a new thing for about two years but have yet to sit down and do some serious writing recently.

Have you come across any authors similar to King?

Read Sanford and Davenport ages ago and outgrew the style. Read all King's books and really am searching for someone else like him. Cree Black's books were okay.
